"What was it like? Moving to Mars." I ask my mom curiously.
"It was kind of stressful before I went because I had to learn alot and try to help them build the economy and what not. But then we were put into rooms, two people per room, I was placed with Zach." That's how they met. "And we had to adapt really quickly and... yeah."
"How easy was it to adapt?"
"Well, it will be much easier for all the people coming now because the Explorers have put in so much work to make Mars as homely as possible." she tells me smugly. "Tell me about Earth."
"Well the global warming and pollution has gotten much worse than what it was, there are only about two million people left-"
"No, no, no about your life on Earth, I don't care for the Earth's deteriorating state." she cuts me off.
"Okay, well, this may come as a shock to you but me and six others have started a rebel alliance caked the Fighters because we believe that what the scientists are doing is wrong-"
"Now you listen here, the Saviors are doing what is best for humanity, you can't just-"
"They have been using all of the natural resources that are left so that they can live in luxury in places with clean, healthy air show everybody else is stuck with the filtered stuff from outside. It is killing us off." I finish strongly.
"When did you grow into such an independent, strong minded woman." she asks sadly.
I don't have the courage to answer that.
So I change the topic. Yay me.
"I was wondering if you wanted to meet the rest of the Fighters, well I guess I can't really call them that any more, my friends?"
"Oh, I would love to."
