wonwoo walked up to the peaceful residence he was beginning to move into. he carried a box in his arms as he studied the surroundings.

he became lost in his thoughts as always until a sharp blade flew in front of his face, hitting the board beside him. his eyes widened as the box almost slipped out of his arms.

he turned into the direction it came from to see a nice-looking man running to his direction with a weed cutter in his hands. "oh, that was close! are you okay young man?"

wonwoo simply nodded as he lifted up his knee to lay the box on it as he lifted his glasses back up. "do you live here?"

"i just moved here." he whispered, looking at the ground instead of the man's face.

"what? i can't hear you."

"i just moved here." he spoke slightly louder and firmly to make sure the man heard him. he just got here and he was already having awkward interactions.

"welcome!" the man grabbed the blade from the board as he nodded, "thank god this didn't hit you. well, i have to go now!" wonwoo sighed with relief as he walked away, looking at the weed cutter and blade while figuring out ways to possibly put it back together.

wonwoo looked at the board that now had a hole where the blade hit. he stared blankly before he continued walking to the buildings entrance.

the sky was cobalt blue and the clouds were more gorgeous than they had been in a while. the birds chirped and flew in joyous harmony as the sun pounded down on them. the atmosphere was happy, and almost perfect compared to how wonwoo felt.

wonwoo made it to the elevator and pressed the number for his floor. he awkwardly stood in the elevator waiting until it finally stopped, stepping out immediately and quickly walking to his room to avoid any more interactions with people.

he struggled to get the key out of his back pocket before he unlocked his room, almost falling over as the weight of the box got to him. he set down the box with as much care as possible before he examined his room.

it was a mess. it smelt terrible, and the floor felt like it had dirt and unknown substances since the cold war. wonwoo visibly cringed as he looked for his slippers so he didn't have to feel the floor on his bare feet as he cleaned.

after he finished cleaning, he sat down on the floor leaning against the boxes. the curtain flowed with the wind, letting the sun fall into the rooms newly cleaned wood floors.

he turned his head to the window, "should i just die?" wonwoo stood up and opened the door and made his way to the roof. he stepped onto the ledge and looked down onto the busy street where everybody drove.

the wind flopped in his hair and face as he lifted his foot up over the edge until he heard the door of the roof open, causing him to hurriedly put his foot back down and turn around to the sound.

he watched as a girl with ballerina shoes walked onto the roof. he mesmerizingly watched her as she spun with such grace. she danced all around the roof, and all he could do was watch.

she suddenly stopped, and looked down at her foot. she made a face of disgust as she picked something off of her shoe — gum. she picked it off her finger and dropped it onto the ground. "did you do this?"

wonwoo jumped slightly, "no."

she cursed under her breath as she wiped her hand on her leggings. "did you see who did?"

wonwoo stood silent and looked back at the sky for a split second before looking back as he sensed movement. he watched her petite figure as she sat down, pulling out a box of cigarettes. "you want one?"

he shook his head slightly as he balled his fist, evidently upset at the girl who ruined his plans. he stepped off the ledge and onto ground as he walked to the staircase. "don't die here."

he looked at the girl who was chewing on the end of an unlit cigarette. "it'll just cause all the residents here problems. if you're gonna die, do it somewhere else."

wonwoo bit the inside of his cheek as he continued walking to his room. as he neared to the door, he saw the same guy with the weed cutter looking into the peep-hole. "what are you doing?" the guy pushed himself away from the door and laughed nervously as he pulled a clipboard from his side.

the man smiled sweetly as he fidgeted with the napkin in his nose, the blood still sleeping. "i told you to come to my office earlier, but i guess you may have forgotten," he held the clipboard out, "you need to fill out a registration document."

wonwoo skimmed over the paper before softly pushing it away, "i'll do it later." he said as he walked closer to the door, causing the man to move out of his way as he unlocked the door.

he stepped foot into his room and began to close the door before the man's hand stopped the door from closing and opened it further, peering his head into the doorway. "i'm sorry for the run in this morning."

wonwoo looked at the man blankly as he attempted to close his door once again, the man still holding it open. he fought with the man until he finally let go, allowing him to shut his door harder than intended.

he spun around upon hearing voices from the other side of the door. the girl from earlier was talking about a sponsorship and about her weight. she must've been a professional ballerina by the looks of it.

wonwoo sighed as he closed his window and locked it. this was going to be a fun stay.
