Title Idea: The Soldier and the Spy
Synopsis:
We all know the story of Captain America & Black Widow. Two individuals born in worlds apart & time. Steve Rogers was born after the Great War and was chosen for Super Soldier serum during WW2 and became Captain America. Natasha Romanoff was born in a complicated origins as she was captured and trained her into deadly assassin by the infamous Red Room when she was child.
The two meet as allies & friends when they along with Iron Man, Thor, Hulk and Hawkeye form into Earth's Mightiest Heroes known as "Avengers". Yet they did not find feelings each other until it was too late. Black Widow sacrifice her life for a Soul Stone. Captain America retired after the final battle against Thanos and went to the Past as he lived together with his love of his life, Peggy Carter.
But What If that change? What If in the alternate timeline both Captain America & Black Widow not just exist each other but fought together in WW2?
Background Info:
In 1930s, tensions were already boiled as Nazi Party led by Adolf Hitler has risen into power in Germany and began rearming the German forces. This followed with annexation of Austria, Czechoslovakia and other minor states under their rule.
Meanwhile in the Soviet Union, the people were tired of Josef Stalin's ruthless dictatorship and brutal purge of his would-be opponents within the Communist Party and many innocent people due of his paranoia. Before the invasion of Poland, Nazi Germany & Soviet Union made an non aggression agreement to split Poland into two: Germany claimed the western part while the Soviet claimed the eastern part. This agreement was known as "Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact" and was signed by both parties.
When the people learned about this, this broke the camel's back as many people rallied in fury to oppose this pact as a "betrayal" to them & the Motherland. Stalin send some forces of the NKVD and executed them while declaring martial law as other people were arrested or killed by NKVD.
However, this fuel their anger even more not just the Soviet people but the military as they saw Stalin as a "mad man" and allied with Hitler and other fascist leaders who disliked Communism.
WW2 began the invasion of Poland followed to Belgium and France. Stalin also launched the attack in Finland after Germany invaded Poland, resulted in the "Winter War". Despite Finland's outnumbered yet strong defensive resistance, it ended with the stalemate but it was this war that cost of many lives of both the people & military of Soviet Union.
A military coup led by Nikita Khrushchev occured and Josef Stalin was deposed & executed along with his loyalists. In response, Germany declared war on Soviet Union & launched Operation: Barbarossa.
Despite their some losses, the Soviet Union fought back and managed to stop the Germans thanks to massive support of civilians who conscripted into the Red Army and a winter that slowed the German war machine. Later, the Soviet Union join with the Allies.
In 1943 as the war rages on around the world, the United States of America & Soviet Union intelligence learned about Hydra, a small but powerful secret organization bent on world domination against anyone especially the Axis Powers with a super weapon powered by an ancient artifact known as Tesseract.
Because of this, the two nations put aside their differences as they joined forces to enact the secret project called "Project Super Soldier".
Both nations found two volunteers for their project: a short but brave young Brooklyn man with health issues named SteveRogers & a Soviet femme fatale agent named Natasha Romanoff which her deadly skills with seduction to kill the prey.
Both were experimented with the Super Soldier serum and was success. The two were billed as poster boy & girl for the US and USSR with the superhero names: Captain America & Black Widow to boost the morale to the people & their military.
Little the two nations knew that the two people will lead not just to fight for their countries & its people as their new guardians of freedom against tyranny but also, the two will form a friendship that will turn into something else, despite their different ideologies.
