I walked around but couldn't figure out what it was at first. Everything seemed normal, till I noticed the rest of the house's wallpaper peeling as well. Something about this creeped me out more than I ever expected it would. It was like pulling out a tooth. Something there for so long that you get so used to it being there that it's weird without it and when you pull on it, it sprouts with blood.
"W-Who's blood is that?"
"All of your family members as they spend their time with Dethartum, Demarion, and me," Relandian grinned. His smile filled me with dread. I can't believe one day I'm going to have to stare at that smile for eternity. Suffering with him. I think that would encourage people to rebel against Dethartum. I wouldn't want to stare at the smile either.
"What did you just say?!" He snapped.
"Nothing," I blurted out. Right. They can hear my thoughts too. I took a deep breath and continued around my house. With his presence, the light of the house dimmed. The whole house seemed to be getting darker and darker. I couldn't tell if it was because of his presence, or if it was simply because of the smoke trail he was leaving behind but regardless, the house was flooded in darkness.
I felt another sharp pain in my body but this time, somewhere else. My back. The pain was a constant wave, never dimming, never strengthening. It was just a very sharp pain. I ran to the mirror to try and see which type of scratch I had this time but I was way off. This wasn't a scratch up my back, it was a knife. I had a knife dislodged in my back!
"I have plenty more where that came from," A girl ghost said, standing in the doorway behind me. She had an odd purple tint to her, hair tied back in a ponytail, and what I call gothic clothes. I wasn't expecting that from a ghost. Something about her felt lifelike. I felt like some girl from my high school was standing in my house. The only problem was the knife.
"Fantastic," I replied and regretted it. Stop making them angry, Landon!
"Ah, Mr. ToughGuy, huh?" She asked then began sharpening the knife with her teeth. I winced at the sound and quickly looked away.
"I'm not tough," I replied and gulped.
"Oh I know," She grinned and threw another knife at me, "I know."
I felt the pain run up my arm again but tried my best to ignore it. The worst thing you can do for a stab wound is taking the object out. I just had to act like everything was fine.
I looked in the mirror at the wounds and the felt movement of my leg. I looked down and noticed spiders. A hundred of them crawled up my legs, swarming the room.
"Meet my spiders. They're all Sydney funnel-webs," She grinned. "The most poisonous of them all."
"Poison?!"
She nodded and grinned, picking up one of the spiders and stroking it in her hand.
"Aren't they amazing?!" Relandian smiled brightly as he appeared out of thin air. Suddenly fires raged on into the room. The fire burned down the shower curtain and sections of the wall. I watched the ashes flutter across the room and realized that the same thing was happening to my mom.
"Where is Demarion?!" I shouted.
"Ugh! That dum-" Relandian started as another smoke cloud appeared. "I mean hey brother..."
Demarion rolled his eyes. "What do you want?"
"I want to know what else I have to do to get my mother back! I already survived those skeleton creeps!" I shouted then bit my lip. Watch what you say, Landon.
