Chapter 16

It was smoothly moving along with the road passing trees and cars.

I started drumming my finger on the car's dashboard humming a tone. I stared at the rare view mirror to find him averting his eyes.

The awkward silence between us creeps me out. So I spoke first.

"Why you were in a rush that day in the rain."
I asked breaking the silence.

"It was my brother Arden's interview. He had forgotten his CV at my home and I had to reach within twenty minutes."

"I drove my car fastly but its engine stopped halfway. I had no time to fix it so I just ran and happened to encounter each other."

"Did your brother get the job?"

"No, Per se he said the woman who was taking his interview was so hot and he got distracted and smitten by her beauty."

"Seems like he is a great flirt."
I amusingly said dragging my gaze from outside.

"Now tell me about you."
He demanded

"It's nothing special."
I counted looking at the sky

"I don't remember saying you are special."
He arrogantly said the perk of being in charge.

"Brute."
I grumbled punching his shoulder. He laughed.

"I'm Hazel Gonzalo__"

"Spanish huh?!"
Cutting me off he was utterly in amusement.

"My father is David Gonzalo___"

"So you're the daughter of that billionaire workaholic robot."
He again cut me off.

"___and Bradon Gonzalo is unfortunate my good-for-nothing brother."
I spoke again gritting my teeth.

"Oh man, that sucks."

That's it. Nerves of this man!

"I'm done talking with you, do you know how many times did you interfere?"
I exclaimed throwing a menacing glare.

"And you are making me stunned with every word you're blasting like a timer bomb."
He smiled sheepishly only to rise my desire to smash a cake in his face.

"Will you let me speak?!"
I asked sighing.

"My lips are zipped."
He gestured as though he zipped up his mouth and I rolled my eyes.

"The wedding we are attending of my ex and cousin's."

"You're a high alert for my fragile heart women. Please don't speak, initially let me digest those things."
He screeched giving me a maniacal glare. I kind of enjoyed his uneasiness and playfulness.

"Then I came to know they both tried to kill me but left me alive."

"For me, I guess." He provoked and interrupted me again. He earned a heated glare from me before pressing his lips tightly and crouching down more in his seat.

Sometimes I feel like I'm babysitting a child.

"So what about you?!"
I asked leaning my back in sit.

"This is the first time you are being like a considerably mature woman."
He stated casually.

"You didn't say that!"
I grumbled but he ignored as if didn't even hear.

"I'm the eldest son in our family with an idiotic brother."
He said shrugging.

"Bradon is my idiotic man-whore good for nothing brother. Also known as the best Detective for his previous Investigations."

"You must be proud of him___"
Before he finish the sentence I screamed

"What?! No never___Correction I can't even stand with this prude, asshole of the assholes."

"I'm sweating. I'll be lying if I said I'm not afraid."
He teased but apparently shrieked seeing my face.

"He is a filthy rich playboy that's what I hate most. He uses his slut and bimbos for pleasure and is very happy being single, as well as I told you he is a sick bastard."
I pointed out why I loath my brother.

"Looks like every house needs a human recycling trash box to throw away the dirt weighting earth."
He flabbergasted.

"If you invent this don't forget to share."
I said seriously.

"I was a nerd like you said and used to date girls in high school and college but I stopped knowing they only want you for frame and money. At that time I got bored and concentrated more on my study."
He said with a small smile gracing his lips.

I admired the man in front of me.

"Are you gay?!"
I suddenly asked

"Let me show you."
He smirked.

"I'll break your bones."
I mumble.

"I would have run away from you if you were in my high school."

"I would have definitely loved to chase you around."
I said giving him a sweet sickening smile.

"I'm not doubting that."
