Looking at the heavily trafficked road in front of me, I knew it had happened again and I let out a deep sigh. One second I was opening the doors to my apartment building to step outside, expecting to see the usual parking lot, but this, this was ridiculous. With a quick look around myself and down at the ground, I’m at least happy to see that there is no dead body by my feet, so that was at least a plus.
Taking in my surroundings, my eyes lands on a large sky scraper and as I lift my head, my eyes lands on the familiar A at the top. Letting out a deep sigh, I let my head fall forwards. Dealing with shrunken people and a mysterious organisation, I can handle. Dealing with powered people and possible alien problems is a whole other play.
Pulling out my phone, knowing it was a lost cost, seeing as it didn’t work last time, its a habit that’s hard to break. But as I try to unlock it, the screen lights up. Seeing as it’s not my usual S.H.I.E.L.D lock screen and background picture, I start to look through it. Seeing the files of S.H.I.E.l.D agents and on going missions, I lift one eyebrow.
Deciding that a date and time would be of good use, I start to look around once more, eyes landing on a newspaper box. Moving towards it, the date of 24th September jumps up at me. Knowing fully well what is going down this day, I turn my attention towards the Avengers Tower, wondering why I had been dropped here and not close to the train station in L.A.
Getting a feeling that the answer must be in my phone, I take it out again, this time around I go through the files properly. When I find the files on Grant Ward and John Garret, my blood runs cold. Remembering the end of season one and the problems that will come, knowing how bad things turns even for the Avengers during the whole Winter Soldier show down, a plan starts to form.
I can put an end to it, all I need is in my phone. The only problem is, how I should go about it, but seeing as I had been placed close to the Avengers Tower, I guess using them is my best option. Not to mention, I could easily inform them about the secrets hidden behind the Level 7 clearance. Smiling at some of the ideas that starts to form in that labyrinth mind of mine, I make sure to remember a few of them, for future works.
Placing my phone in the back pocket, I start to move towards the tower, the sooner I can get the Avengers on my team, the faster I can see agent Ward locked up.
Reaching the large buildings front doors, I roll my eyes at the scene in front of me. I should have known there would be a large gathering of fans outside. Holding my elbows out, I start to walk through the crowd, reaching the front. Seeing that Stark has been smart enough to get security guards, I move towards one of them.
“No entry!”
The large man informs me as I step towards him, keeping my head low and hands in my pockets, realising I’m taking after a few other characters, from other shows.
“Well, could you send a message to Mr Stark and the other Avengers that there is someone down here with critical information about HYDRA movements?”
I asks, keeping my voice low as I speak. Reaching for my phone, I hope the man will be fooled by the simple background picture of the S.H.I.E.L.D logo. Seeing how the man looks at my phone before nodding his head, I give him a smile before stepping back, making sure to keep my phone close at hand just in case.
Glancing towards the crowd now behind me, I scanned the people, mostly to pick out if any of them would create a problem. But seeing as the security guard I had spoken to moves towards me, I turn my attention towards him.
“You may enter.”
He informs and I nod my head, stepping behind him and the rest of the guards before entering the building. Finding myself in an empty lobby, I look around, eyes landing on the door leading to the obvious staircases.
