"VAL! You didn't tell me you came back!" I jumped into his arms and squeezed him into a hug that he gave back while laughing

"VAL! You didn't tell me you came back!" I jumped into his arms and squeezed him into a hug that he gave back while laughing.

"Cabbage! How are you?" I took his face with both hands and scanned it. "I stopped the fights cabbage, I'm fine."

I squinted at him before signalling him to lower me down to the floor. "I'm good, how 'bout you. And why didn't you think it would be nice to tell me you came back?" I slammed my finger on his chest with every word.

He held my wrists and put them behind my back. "Calm down. I wanted it to be a surprise. Plus, I brought my little friend over here back from Italy." He nodded towards rude-guy-that-is-not-a-sour-lemon-in-the-end.

I was confused. "You know each other?"

"I'm the one supposed to ask that." I-don't-know-his-name-guy frowned. Mental note: ask him his name. "I didn't know you had a girlfriend." He looked right past my head, from his average 6''0.

Valerio glanced at me and I shrugged, sitting in the middle of the table. "We're not dating. We tried, but that," He lets out an awkward chuckle. "I'll tell you another time."

"Valerio!" Amarra, my ultimate bestie, kissed him on the cheek while he laughed at something the-other-guy said. "And who is this fine gentleman you brought for our single-ass use case."

I raised my eyebrows, kinda embarrassed, and put on my saddest expression. "I feel... loved and... respected."

Amarra rolled her eyes. "So? Who are you."

"Lorenzo." I looked at him. Now that I think of it,  he did have a kind of slight, unnoticeable accent, that I now placed as Italian. He slips his bag onto shoulder and nods towards the window. "We're going."

"What?" Quentin looked between both of them.

"You can come if you want." He turned away and I looked at my watch. It was only 14:00.

"Habits never die." I mumbled. He looked back at me, and I knew he had heard me.

"Why did you choose Business and not English Literature if you keep judging how people speak?"

I looked him dead in the eye. "Maybe I should have, not to meet people like you." I held eye contact with him until Valerio muttered something to his ear. He scowled and turned around.

I spinned towards Amarra. "What did I do wrong? I was trying to be nice." I frowned.

"The guy is almost like Spiderman," she shrugged.

"Why did you say that?" I asked as she sat down in front of me.

"Say what?" We took out our notebooks and she handed me some Doritos.
