Chapter 10

        She got free and lunged at him, forcing him to let go of Rose. They fight a bit, and then he stuck a finger in one of Isobel's cuts. She looks toward Rose fell in a grove, she saw her chest heaving gently, and she was still alive although in critical condition. The man slam her in the face before drop her in the river with the taser to electrocuted her. And the feeling was horrible, so terrible that she blacks out. Jubal was crazy in the car, he was screaming to Oa to just drive faster. He was so scared for Isobel, Elise was working on Isobel car, and she successfully activates again the GPS of the car.

"Guy I have the exact localization of her!"

They arrived on a dark forest, which gave goosebumps, Maggie was a bit scared of it, but like she has Oa and the rest of the team she reassured herself. Plus it was to save Isobel, she will never let her chief down. Jubal was scanning the forest; it was there that he saw a man throwing Isobel into the river. He yelled at his agent to stop, but jumped out of the vehicle before it came to a complete stop and ran gun in hand towards them. Jubal didn't think twice, and didn't care about the man, he push him on the side and dives in to get her. Jubal saw blood on the water, she's hurt and his heart sank knowing that. He was struggling to reach her because of the current. But seeing her drowning gave him renewed strength and the agent managed to grab Isobel, and hold her head above water.

"Come on Izzy, don't let me down." Jubal whispers.

Oa and Maggie were on the shore waiting for them. Maggie had arrested and handcuffed the suspect before Scola and Tiffany took him away. Jubal tries to pass Isobel to Oa, and get out of the water before joining them and rub Isobel back.

"Come on Izzy, come back to you. Open yours beautiful doe eyes!"

After a few stressful minutes, Isobel eyes fluttered before opening.

"Hey welcome back" Jubal smile while she was watching him, Maggie and Oa like she was searching for someone. 

"Rose" Isobel whispers look around for the girl. 

Jubal looks at her confuse, thinking the drowing must have shock her and that she's delirious. 

"Isobel, my daughter is dead from years. Let her in peace, please. It's really hurtful."

"Jubal, she may have a fever or a blow to the head in the fall or before during her detention that makes her delirious" Maggie whispered.

"Okay, I'll take you to the ambulance, Izzy. It's okay, you're safe. And that SOB will answer for his crimes thanks to you."

"No Rose! She's here! Jubal!" repeated Isobel frantically.

"That's enough Isobel! Rose is dead! Leave me alone with that! I should have told you about it, okay but stop rubbing the knife in the wound!"

Isobel struggled in Jubal's arms, gritting her teeth as she aggravated her own wounds. But she couldn't, shouldn't let them take her without finding Rose. The poor thing might have died by now, she was so weak... Isobel ended up punching Jubal, and freed herself. Staggering, the brunette went into the forest.

"If you try to stop me, I'll have you fired." threatened Isobel, looking at Oa in front of her.

"Guys, she's still really determined..." Oa confessed

Isobel went deeper into the thicket, and found the girl's lifeless body.

"I've got you sweetheart" Isobel whispered as she knelt beside her.

"Guys!" Oa cried as he joined her.

He followed Isobel to catch her up if she fell.

"Oh my god..." Maggie gasped as she saw the girl's skeletal state.

"Ro....Rose" Jubal muttered in shock upon seeing his daughter's albeit scarred face.

All colors left his body, he missed many heartbeats.

Oa didn't wait for his colleague to come to his senses, and delicately took Rose in his arms, taking her to the ambulance.

"Easy...she...she went through hell" breathed Isobel exhausted.

"I got her, don't worry" whisper Oa. 

Isobel sign before collapse from relief and pain, Maggie running to her, screaming to Jubal.
