TW: Suicidal thoughts

Noah POV, third person limited

Cody yelled up at Noah "NOAH! IT'S TIME FOR THE PARTY!" He only got a groan in response. "Nooooah! I need you to drive me!" "FINE!" Noah slowly walked down. Cody giggled at the sight of the taller brunette. He obviously had been in his bed the whole day, with messy hair and slightly closed eyes. "You sure you can drive?" Cody half teased, though he was half worried. "I'm fine... unless you want to drive." Noah rubbed his eyes and smiled. "Point taken." Cody smiled and walked to the car. "By the way, Izzy said we're picking her and Eva up." Cody sat in the passenger seat. Noah sighed and nodded. At Izzy's house, he stopped and leaned back. "Text them that we're ready." Noah turned to the shorter man. Cody nodded and was about to when Izzy burst out the door. Eva, looking much less excited, trailed behind her.

As Izzy jumped in, she put on a fake frown. "Awwwwwww, why do I have to sit in the back?" Before Izzy could say anything about this being a weird kind of flirting, Noah jotted in "Because he told me I was driving him beforehand." Noah started the car as Eva and Izzy buckled. Izzy laughed. "Oh yeah!" then she whispered something to Eva. Eva sighed and sat up. "Can I have the aux?" She said staring at Izzy, who seemed pleased. "Oh yeah, of course. Come on Cody, give it to them!" Noah rolled his eyes. To his surprise, Cody handed it to them. Noah groaned and mumbled "Idiot" under his breath, but was clearly smiling.

Izzy instantly put on "Don't Mine at Night" and she and Cody enthusiastically sang along. Eva and Noah regretted this.

When they pulled up to the party, Noah sighed. "Finally!" He said, turning off the car and, in turn, the aux. Izzy pouted and got out. "By the way, when I want to leave, we're gonna leave." Noah got out. "Unless I get big O to drive us!" Izzy giggled as team e-scope (and Cody) started going towards the door. Noah rolled his eyes and walked in. "Hello!" Greeted Geoff. Noah sighed and walked right past him. Geoff frowned but shrugged it off. Cody smiled and greeted him, and Izzy jumped in. Eva walked behind her. Noah almost instinctively walked to the quietest place he could think of - the yard - and sat down to read. It was already slightly dark out, but Noah didn't mind.

After a bit, Cody walked outside and sat next to Noah. Noah turned to him and furrowed his brow. Cody smiled at him. "What's wrong." Noah put his book down. Cody smiled "I wanna get away from Sierra". Noah smiled. "What ya reading?" Cody peeked over his shoulder. Noah smiled slightly, turning the book cover to him.

(I couldn't think of a book-)

Cody rubbed his neck and turned down. "Can I read it?" he said, embarrassed. Noah's eyes lit up and started talking about how it was part of a series, and this was the fifth one, but Noah would buy him the whole thing. Cody listened intently. "Can you explain it to me?" Cody leaned on him. Noah was very clearly very excited, smiling and going on rants on his opinions on characters, story plots, and why he thought he could write certain things better. He ended it talking about how he hasn't finished it, so he couldn't say why things happened. Cody was smiling almost as much as Noah.

After just chatting for a while, when it was only lit by fireflies and the light glow from the mansion, Cody yawned and leaned on Noah, causing him to blush. "Can I uh- can I talk with you?" Noah rubbed Cody's arm. Cody tilted his head "What?". Noah shifted uncomfortably. "I uh- I feel comfortable with you." Noah's head shot up. "Not romantically!"

Cody laughed and smiled. "Well uh- shit this might bring down the mood-" Noah shook his head. "Sorry I'm not acting like 'sarcastic old Noah', I wanna be serious." Noah frowned. Cody smiled "It's okay!", which means Noah showed a slight smile.

"I uh- sometimes I feel like I wanna kill myself " Noah brought his knees up into the fetal position.

Cody said nothing. He was slightly in shock. Sure, Noah joked about it, but this was genuine.

What most confused Cody was why Noah told him.

Cody just hugged him, much to Noah's surprise. He felt very tense at first, but slowly loosened up. Noah slowly smiled and leaned onto Cody, very softly crying. They sat in silence for a while.
