Killian POV

When Marvin arrived, he was a gaunt, a shadow of his former self. Wherever he had been, he clearly wasn't taking very good care of himself. It seemed like it would be cruel to make him fight so Ronan quietly snapped his neck in a cell in the dungeon.

Ronan was quite subdued after. I started to worry about him. If he had that kind of breakdown behind our mother who betrayed him, I couldn't imagine what it was going to be after killing his abuser.

He was no longer engaging in sex with Lila even. All he did was go for runs and brood.
Lila was in a sour mood these days too. She was barely leaving the pack house while taking care of the twins.

One day I offered to take care of the kids while she went for a run with Ronan. They returned not speaking to each other. I had no idea what happened.

I tried asking both of them what happened but neither of them would give me an answer. They just said "nothing, it's fine," but I could tell it wasn't fine. I tried getting Lila alone to talk to her but she still wasn't in the mood. She just placated me.

When I got Ronan alone, he just said that his wolf was a little rough with her wolf and she's mad at him for it.

"Your wolves mated?" I ask.

"Of course," he says. "Haven't you?"

"That's not something we've done together," I say.

"That's another first for me. Yay," he says.

"What happened exactly?" I ask.

"We were fully engaged and her wolf said she wanted you there and my wolf lost it," he says. "He was very possessive."

"That's really not good. Does your wolf have a problem with me?" I ask.

"I think it was all the time you guys spent together without me," he says. "He gets jealous."

"Is there anything I can do to help?" I ask.

"Go away for a few months," he says.

"I'm not going to do that Ronan," I say.

"I would never expect you to," he says. "I just need time with her. And I want to impregnate her. I want to do everything with her."

"Have you talked to her about this?" I ask.

"No. I'm waiting for the right time."

"No time like the present," I say. "Just go talk to her. Maybe you can even spend weekends at the old pack house for a while."

"I never thought about that," he says.

"We could have food brought to you guys and she can send breast milk home," I say. "Go talk to her."

"Alright," he says.

With that out of the way, I look at the pile of complaints on my desk. We have everyone submit their disputes now so we're not constantly running around. Most are simple complaints. People wanted jobs. I also found a complaint from Tara that I don't spend any time with her. That I put in the personal pile.

I finally found another cook to work at the old pack house. I hired a full maid staff for both the old and the new pack houses. Even though people won't generally be living at the old one, it still needed to be cleaned.

Then I decided to seek my mate to talk about Ronan. I found her in the nursery rocking Evan while Elise slept.

"I wanted to talk to you about Ronan," I say.

"What about him?" She asks.

"He doesn't seem to be himself and he expressed a desire to be with you one-on-one more," I say.
