August 16th, 7:30 a.m.
I open my eyes to a loud blaring noise, I groan, slamming my fist down to turn off the alarm. Great, first day of school and already gonna be late. I pull on a gray sweatshirt over my plain white t-shirt, pulling on a black skirt before running down the stairs and taking a piece of toast last minute. I see the pack of cigarettes and beer bottles laid out on the table, I glance to see no sign of my parents car. Typical day, an hour of a walk, great..
8:40 a.m.
I sprint down the road, panting heavily as I attempt to keep my skirt from pulling up. I slam open the door, continuing to sprint down the hallways before a lousy old teacher yells at me. I open the door to my classroom, about 40 eyes dart over to look at me, I slowly make my way over to an empty seat while listening to the lecture the teacher gave about me being late.
12:25 p.m.
I carry a lunch tray, glancing down at all the teenagers gathered around at the tables with their friends, I shed a sigh, awkwardly sitting next to a random pair of girls. They glare at me and huff before trotting off with their pink purses and bleached white high heels. I play with the, at least what I think, is mash potatoes. It's all brown and mushy, it doesn't look appetizing. I can skip a meal.
Two obnoxious boys sit beside me, laughing and throwing around the disgusting food. A glob of mash potatoes plants right on my sweatshirt, I sigh, wiping it off with a napkin. They immediately apologize, I shrug and walk off. Dumping the non appealing food into the trash bin.
2:53 p.m.
I bite my lip until it bleeds, I watch as it trickles down onto my paper, the red liquid absorbing into the paper creating a wet, red spot. Five minutes left until we can leave, we're currently in math, how do I tell the teacher I don't know anything she's talking about? I look over and my mind goes blank, I see HIM, I feel my throat get dry, I can't breathe, I feel dizzy and nauseous. I need somewhere to hide, anywhere please? He glanced at my way, my vision blurs and my mind goes blank. He approaches about to say something. The bell rings. I grab my things, sprinting off to the bathroom.
8:00 p.m.
My parents still aren't home, I'm hungry. I open the fridge to see nothing but a pair of broken eggs and expired milk. Pizza it is for tonight.
