"Shit shit SHit ShIt SHIT!"
On the run again.
Leaves crunched under my feet as I stumbled passed trees, the greenery passing by in a blur.
No matter how fast I travel,
I quickly dodged a tree limb that had fallen down to my shoulder length, the toe of my shoe catching slightly on the trunk root that lay below.
they always seem to catch up, huh?
I was now nearing a ledge on the cliff, an ocean laying beyond.
I could feel the polices' hounds on my heels, their snapping, slobbering jaws giving me the urge to look back every five seconds to check how close they were, but I resisted dutifully.
Taking one last step forward, I launched my body off the cliff, stretching my arms out into a swan dive as I relaxed my muscles for the strong hit of the ocean's currents.
Free falling is definitely one of the most exciting and exhilarating experiences you will ever have in life, that is, if you ever get the chance to indulge in it. Unfortunately, with great reward comes greater risk, and you better be prepared for that landing you're about to feel because, if not done properly and with great expertise, it's gonna hurt. A lot.
I felt as if I was flying, my hair flew back all around me as I struggled to keep my eyes open. The wind was so great, I could have sworn on my mother's grave that my skin would be ripped off my skeleton from the force. Thankfully, this wasn't going to be the case...If I do this properly.
My momentum picked up speed and I cringed. This was definitely gonna hurt.
I held my breath as I hit the water like a bullet, real bullets being shot down by policemen, spewing around me like light rain on a spring morning. How comforting.
The sound of dogs barking and snarling became muffled and distant as my head was covered by the relentless liquid.
Now most would think that their knuckles would feel painful and bruised from hitting the water first, but all I felt was numb, the freezing chill of the ocean working as a natural anesthetic for my high temperatured body.
I swam down as far as possible, staying down near the side of the cliff that met the ocean. If I lost grip of that ledge, I would be in a whole hell of a lot of danger. Fatally even.
Don't let the ledge go. Whatever you do, don't–
A pain shot through my leg and up my body. My hand slipped.
Oh for fucks saKE–!
I felt my body hit the rocky terrain, and my consciousness wavered, my vision narrowing from color to black to white to black again to color again. I'm becoming disoriented and the need to breath is now more urgent.
I convinced myself to keep swimming for my life.
Pushing down the pain, I hauled my body up onto the steep side of the cliff, taking a big gasp for air as I panted. Whatever deity there was had taken pity on me and gave me the chance to see a small hole big enough to fit a human and out of sight enough to escape these nosy assholes.
