The Pawn
Hey everyone in chess the pawn is the smallest piece. Despite being the smallest it is thrust in the front where the action is the hardest and most difficult area to survive. Yet if the pawn somehow makes it to the opponents side it can transform into a Queen. One of the best and most useful piece on the board.
Many of us are thrust into awful situations in life. Some are not our own fault and of course some we cause ourselves. Our journey can be difficult, sometimes seeming impossible. However, through hard work and dedication to ourselves we can overcome anything! We can cross whatever battlefield we face drugs, alcohol, self doubt, etc. and make it to the other side. We can change from that weak, easily conquered, useless pawn into something better. A piece that is diverse, strong, valuable and worth the struggle.
I believe in you I once was a pawn, I struggled, I fought, clawed, begged, pleaded, and crossed my own inner battlefield to change. The battle never is truly never over, but I feel more confident in who I've become. If you need help ask. If someone asks then give. If they stumble picked them up. Hell if they stumble 100 times pick them up. Because for a pawn to make it to the other side, it was overlooked, not worth a second glance, not a concern.
