I believe women are unique.
With my softer features and my fragile physique.
My eyes, my mouth, my hair, my nose,
Every bit about me, from my head to my toes.My confidence, my determination, my walk and my strut,
But not the size of my boobs, or the size of my butt.
But my smile, my charisma, my eyes in the sun,
If only it were this delicate...
Reality has begun.Women are judged simply for our looks,
If my features are sexy enough in a men's genre of books.
If i'm a 4 or a 9, or good enough to date,
I haven't even met you, and you already gave me a rate.If I dont shave our legs, or i'm "too skinny", or "too fat",
Nothing impresses you, unless i'm a curvy molerat.
If I don't look like Kylie Jenner, or Marilyn Monroe,
If I don't regularly workout, or kiss like a pro.Nothing satisfies your needs,
And the way your words weigh me down,
But you sit back and observe, holding onto your crown. You want me to look like Madison beer,
And you wont let me control how I want to appear.
You complain and whine about how I look,
But it is my body, and it is therefore mistook.Let me put it this way, he complains about me wearing "too much makeup", or "a slutty little skirt,"
As if he isn't pointing it out like a screwed up pervert. You complain that my Instagram posts are; "pick me" or "too fake",
You make me want to rip myself apart. How about you give me a break?Sorry to burst your bubble, but I dont care.
About my imperfections, from my feet to my hair.
I don't live to please you, I live for myself.
I'm not your little project or your personal elf.I'm not your piece of art, for only you to admire,
I don't dress to impress you, and don't read into my smile.
I am not your doll, which you can tweak and touch,
I am a living, and breathing person, thank you very much.I am not too ugly because of my thighs or my hips,
Or my nose, or my hairline, or the cupid's bow between my lips.
My flaws are my strengths, they are what make me mya.
I am unique and I am equal, and do not call me a liar.I can't use my voice to openly talk,
At a peaceful protest or at school where i'm stalked.
From when I was in year 6, sexism was taught.
Where "strong boys had to carry the chairs," what bullshit, I thought. We do not get high pay, we do not get high salary,
This has been a thing since the 1800s, unfortunately this is reality. When we had the opportunity to vote, we jumped for joy,
Until abortions were banned in America, now lives are being destroyed.
Our voices are still blocked,
And our actions are heavily mocked.I will use my voice to speak my mind,
Again and again, until i'm not declined
Of my opinions that matter to other girls,
Not just here in Australia, but around the world.I will not be shut down for fight to success,
I will list every problem that needs to be addressed:
I will not stay quiet about rape
I will not stay quiet about assault.
We have been hiding these within, and it is all your fault. For every single woman should be equal to every man,
This is the new world, and this is my plan. Here are five things I will or will not do as a mother:
I will treat both my daughter and my son with respect
I will teach them the right morals and ethics EQUALLY
I will not stereotype their qualities
I will not make one feel inferior to another
I will not let them pick on each other in a sexist way,Now why am I talking about my daughter and my son?
I'm not even 18, my adult life hasnt even begun.I want this new generation to be as equal as can be,
Not like Generation X or Generation Z.
But a generation where all girls can be seen,
Their voices, and their personality, not their body in their jeans.Their rights will not be undermined because they are a woman
Because other than gender, we are all human. This is modern feminism.

PoetryThis is a poem about feminism and how the world is a very unwelcoming place to live in, especially for us women as we have many less rights and opportunities. I hope this poem wakes people up and brings fourth lessons.
