Do you believe in soulmates?
As far as Kenny knows, there has always been such a thing in the world where one could accept you for the way you are, all your impurities and insecurities, it doesn't matter. Whether you are scarred or unblemished, there is no in between. In their eyes, you are perfect. That is what he is scared of, all the things he did and all the mistakes he did do, to make him stand out would be all for nothing and he is afraid that in the eyes of his soulmate, maybe he's just another boring person that would be entitled to be their life partner.
Not that he minded or anything. That would be pretty sweet, he'd just get to chill around.
After twirling his finger to loose strands of his blond hair for what seemed to be hours whilst laying on his mattress, he finally sat down as a huge sigh escaped his mouth.
His white shirt hung loosely in his thin frame as he wondered if it'll ever fit. With the collar so loose, he swore he could see the tattoo-like soulmark engraved in his collar bone. He thinks it's lame, a bad place for it to be displayed in the eyes of many people watching and silently spreading words about him.
He isn't too paranoid about it. But the thought of people judging him silently for the person he's bound to be with is painfully suffocating him. He closed his eyes with the thought still in mind as if he's meditating, a few hours from now, he can feel it. Something is bound to happen again.
Many scenarios ran through his head, being shot, run over or stabbed, even the possibility of being robbed would put his heart in a stop. Which is lame, considering the fact that he's got nothing except for a couple of changes that he got from Cartman after doing multiple dares.
His eyes darted right to where his old clock, 6:37 am displayed and he decided it's time to go. He wore his parka that was laying on the floor after being tossed yesterday and unplugged his keypad phone he received from Stan for his 15th birthday. He plugged his earphones in his phone, playing the song that he looped last night before falling asleep.
Walking down the stairs was pretty calming, there's no shouting from his parents as he guessed they were passed out from their late night shifts. After his dad got hired as a security guard, Kenny didn't know if he should be happy or doubt it. He believes that no rational people would hire him as from his records, there is always a streak in his job application for getting fired because of embezzlement. He didn't know how he could last up to 5 months in this job.
He grabbed a poptart he hid in the cupboard, reserving two for Karen and one for Kevin, he wasn't sure if Kevin ate his but if he didn't, Karen would get three. He went on his way to the door, timingly as Karen went down.
"Ken, leaving so early?" Her tired voice would come barely as a squeak.
"Yeah, you know how I am." He smiled, although he was sure she wouldn't know that considering the parka covering nearly his whole face.
"Mhm, take care. Love you." She waved her hands before stepping in the kitchen.
"Love you too." Before closing the door and steps being buried in snow.
His heart kept on beating rapidly, and he swore he was going to die in a heart attack at any moment but he sucked it up, holding his breath. Walking to the same familiar stop where he would stand by in the 17 years of his existence.
Stan and Kyle were already there when he arrived, the same topic over and over before drifting in Chemistry where Stan would occasionally nod and Kyle would ramble.
"--and I don't understand dude. Like polyatomic anions would have its root word followed by ite or ate but it doesn't make sense when Ms. Seabra named ClO2 as perchlorate ion and ClO- as chlorate ion! Then she proceeds to make C negative! You hear me, Stan?! Negative! You can't make it negative, and she began naming -ClO as chlorite ion!"
