It's have been a long time since they hid the seer prophecy. Not until they were betrayed by a peasant who sought after the reward given by the emperor to those who reported things such as protest and prophecy that could put an end to the kingdom.
The seer was imprisoned and later executed for reading the prophecy that could bring an end to his kingdom. For the supporters of the seer, Things wasn't going well for them either. Their house was burned and crumbled to the ground. Their crops that they have worked hard had been destroyed because of the emperor order. Without any food left many people died of hunger. Famine all over the kingdom some of them was forced to ate human flesh to survive.
Thinking about the seer prophecy. The emperor ordered that all royal family across japan to be executed and burned alive. Fearing that the seer prophecy will bring an end to his life and his kingdom.
The villagers tried to protect what they had left "the prophecy"
Armed with just a pitchfork and couple of torch. They gather and sorrounded the castle "you took everything from us now you wanted to take away our freedom?"
Said the peasant. Hearing this warcry the emperor ordered them to be killed. The armed guard prove to be victorious as only 9 of them died from the battle that took place in the castle. Some villagers fled to the forest and never to be seen again. With many of them dead the surviving villagers became a slave for the emperor working without any rewards whatsoever. Some who chose not to work was executed and fed to the other slave.
