𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐲'𝐬 𝐖𝐚𝐲| 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐗 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐠 | 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐀𝐔

Prologue

Ling's POV

It was 4:13 pm, our class ended, and Wanwan told me to come to the school garden, she told me she had something to say.

As I entered the garden, Nobody else was there. I saw her holding a box of chocolates in her hands and she looked very nervous. "Hey, what's with the chocolates?" I asked. "Ling...I have something to say" She started. "I...I like you, Ling! I liked you for a long time now and--" 
I cut her off. "Wanwan, I understand how you feel but...I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, but I just don't feel the same way." I replied as tears came running slowly out of her eyes. "I'm very sorry I can't return to you the feelings you're having," I added. "Oh- oh! No, no need to apologize! I...I respect your decision, Ling." She said as she forced a smile while tears were streaming down her face. "Again, I'm very sorry, Wanwan" I looked at her one more time, then left.

~The next day~

I wasn't planning on telling anyone, but apparently, Zilong came rushing to me and asked "Hey Ling, I heard Wanwan confessed to you yesterday?"  He started

"Yes, she's the third girl this week." I closed my locker and continued walking.

"Hey, did you reject her?" He curiously asked

"Zilong, you know I'm not ready for a relationship yet, right?" I answered

"Well, yeah?" He replied

"Then stop pushing it." I stated

"But Wanwan is beautiful and kind! Do you know how many boys he rejected because she liked you?" He continued bugging me

"I simply do not care" I replied

As I entered the room, I saw Wanwan talking to her best friend, Melissa. I pretty much didn't care. I then took out my phone from my bag and started using it while the teacher wasn't there yet.

"Okay, it looks like we're going to do a group activity." The teacher started

"Hell no. Is this one of these books where you get to be a part with your stupid 'true love' whatever tf they call it thing? I knew I shouldn't have gone to school today" I thought to myself

"Julian, Xavier, and Yin" The teacher started 

(skip through other groups)

And Wanwan, Melissa, and Zilong" He stated

"Ans as for Ling..you can group with Xavier, Julian, and Yin" The teacher said. and I nodded in agreement

 "Now, your task is to make a presentation about the History of the Prototype Archaic, you will have two days to prepare for the presentation, which means, you might have to spend your Saturday and Sunday preparing for this depending on how much time you take. you may start now" The teacher said
(If you're a genshin player, you know what this means. Lmao)

Third person's POV

"Alright! This is looking good! I guess this is it for today." Melissa smiled

"Sure! Let's continue this tomorrow" Wanwan replied

"Where should we meet up?" Zilong asked

"Cafe Del Luna, tomorrow at 8:00 am, sounds good?" Wanwan asked

"Sure" Melissa and Zilong agreed

Wanwan's POV

Over the next two days, we spent less of our time planning and most of our time eating, Of course, Zilong was the one who treated us.

~The day of the presentation~

"Okay, so before we start, I got informed that Zilong won't be attending due to his fever" 

Me and Melissa we're shocked because Zilong was the one who had most of our notes

I then raised my hand. "Sir, How are we going to present? Zilong has most of our notes" I stated

"Ah, I see, well then group 4 (Ling, Julian, Xavier, and Yin) will be reducing one member." The teacher replied. "Ling, go and help group 2 out. (Wanwan, Melissa, and Zilong)" The teacher added and saw his small smirk at the corner of my eye

Ling's POV

I had second thoughts about agreeing, recalling that Wanwan just confessed to me a few days ago... in which I rejected her, but I agreed anyway. 'It's just for a while' I thought to myself 

Melissa was demonstrating the project, while me and Wanwan were having an awkward time being next to each other.

Wanwan's POV

While me and Ling were having an awkward time together, Melissa was smirking and kept hitting me lightly with her elbow from time to time, she was teasing me and it was very annoying

We continued to deliver the presentation nicely, though I was having quite a hard time focusing since Ling was in our group, which bothered me a lot, thankfully, we met our teachers' expectations and got a good grade for it. phew
