What is your happy place? For you, it had always been the comfort and solace of your home.

But that's...about to change.

It was very difficult to find the perfect apartment in Tokyo, mainly because of the price and the size. You were lucky that the person you helped out file taxes at the government office was a landlady. In exchange, she allotted you the unit at the top floor, which you occupied all alone. It was very spacious in comparison to the other rooms, though there's another one left vacant, it wasn't really being rented.

Aside from the perk of having a pocket garden on your floor, the apartment building had a laundromat at the ground floor which was also owned by the landlady. 7-Eleven was a block away and your office was just a walking distance.

It was perfect, indeed! You always looked forward to going home everyday, because life at the office, was basically very shitty. You'd grab your favorite snacks and watch your favorite movie, and at some times, you'd draw in a warm bath to calm yourself down. All this in the comfy sanctuary of your apartment which you filled with bright colors and plushies all lined up in your bed. Pure bliss.

With a bowl of popcorn in your hands, you turned your TV on and chose a movie through your screencast. You played it and happily enjoyed it as it started when you heard loud banging at the other side of the door.

What the hell is that?

The thumping was constant that it was already becoming irritating. You couldn't even enjoy the film. This was your self-care time! And what was that noise? You heard men laughing from the other side and the apartment door opening and closing.

Do you have a new neighbor?

You let the noise slide for the day as you just decided to not waste the little time you had and prepared yourself to sleep, but even that! God! They're not shutting up. That night you didn't even get a proper shut-eye.

Just when you thought it would only last a night, your landlady informed you about your new neighbor.

"Neighbor?" You asked, secretly mortified. Given what they did to your sleep last night, you knew you'd be doomed for the rest of the nights you're about to spend. "B-But there's like around 3 or 4 of them there?"

Otose, the landlady, laughed. "It's just one. Don't worry. Maybe they threw him a housewarming party."

A housewarming party. Great! Maybe they were mercilessly noisy last night because of a housewarming party.

Days went by and, even without his friends, your new neighbor was amazingly annoying. He'd left stray garbage along the corridor and this morning. Just this morning! You found chips wrapper in front of your door. The cherry tomatoes in the pocket garden were now all gone too. You bet he's taking them all.

You rested your forehead on the heels of your palms. Your head was throbbing. You didn't get a proper sleep these days. You stood up and headed to the pantry, but before you could even enter, you heard you officemates uttered your name.

"Y/N?" They laughed.

"I heard the reason why she's not accepting these mixer invitations is because no one wants to date her in the last mixer she attended."

You clenched your fists. Seriously? You weren't attending any mixers, because you thought it was a big waste of your time. These lies. Rumors like this kept spreading everywhere about you because of these bitches. If you were just brave enough, you could've trash talked them altogether but you were always the non-confrontational type.

All you really looked forward to was your little time at home. You were quite uplifted when you saw the there was no hint of light emanating from the other room. He's not home! You hurried up and prepared yourself to sleep, tucking into your fluffy blanket as you hugged your soft chubby pillow.
