How It Felt

We kissed once
I remember how it felt, your lips against mine
It's a feeling I'd never forget
Not because it was particularly unforgettable
More because it wasn't what I expected
I had dreamt of my first kiss
It wasn't magical when it happened
Quite the opposite
I don't hate you
I suppose touch is something I tend to shy away from
Your kiss ultimately made me feel confused
I had no butterflies
No sense of fulfillment
It was purely physical
And I truly wish I felt differently
