BACKGROUND. having lived during the peak of the black plague , michael was on the verge of death— and he had fully accepted it. he had long since lost his wife, children and other family to the rampaging illness.
upon being discovered by aro, pity was taken upon him as michael was used as a tool to expand on the volturi family. michael would spend the next several decades of his life with the volturi, following their bidding, only to eventually leave them— this however, was easier said than done.
after leaving the volturi, michael was lost. a life of indulgence and abusing his power had led him down a destructive path, both to himself and others. after some time, he found himself attending midnight mass at a catholic church — it was from here that he found redemption in religion.
