Charlie's p.o.v

I looked at my phone...

8:45 p.m..

"Hey Salem! We need to start cleaning up."

"Alright give me a minute I'm finishing up with this last customer" they glanced back to me and I nodded.

I started to clean up anything that was misplaced, on the floor, or unorganized.

"Alright sir's, have a goodnight!" Salem waved to to guys holding hands, that I assumed were a couple. (No shit)

He walked up to me putting their left arm around my shoulder. "Hey Charlie! Ya feelin better?"

"Yeah, I'm about to be finished organizing"

"Oh ok,"

"Hey charlie..have you heard about all those missing persons chases on the news lately?"

"Hm? Missing persons chases?-"

"Yeah man! They're been over 30 missing persons chases in the past 2 months! You really don't watch the news do you?" Salem looked at me as I glanced back.

"Not really; I'm still pretty new with the internet and all that. Considering when I was a kid, I wasn't really allowed to watch TV or play video games like most.."

"Yeah don't worry I get it. Some parents are just more protective of their kids." They patted my back

"Yeah...protective.." I sighed slightly,

"Welp I'm done," I checked my phone again.

9:00 p.m

We closed up the store for the day, heading outside of the mall.

"Alright Sal, cya later" I turned to walk to the bus stop before I felt his hand grab my wrist.

"Like hell man! No way I'm letting you take the bus alone, especially with all the missing people chases happening. I'm gonna drive you home. No buts about it; and we're stopping at that taco truck near your house because I'm fucking hungry. Plus I know you starve yourself-..."

"I don't-" they cut me off,

"Don't lie to me Brooks. Don't think I haven't noticed you not taking your lunchbreaks. Plus you look pale as hell man" Salem held my chin up to look at him

"You know I care about you..right Charlie?"

"....." I avoided his gaze, the blood rushing to my face. But since it was cold you would just assume it wad the weather.

Salem made me face him again. Staring into my eyes before realizing he had been staring. His face turing red as he made some distance between us.

"I-I'm sorry; I didn't realize I was that close." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"It's..It's f-fine"

"You sure?" He gave a concerned look.

"Yeah, don't worry"

"We both know I can't do that" we both laughed as we walked to his car.

We got in and he started the car.

"Should I put on our favorite song?" He smirked looking over to me.

I grinned,"I think we should." I stopped and started to panic at I couldn't stop smiling.

I started to laugh as Salem looked at me noticing what was happening.

"It's okay Charlie don't worry. I know you can't control it. Just wait for it to go away, ok?"

I nodded, it lasted 10 minutes until it died down and I could stop smiling.

"I reckon you didn't taken you're medication, hm?" He glared at me and looked away slightly disappointed in myself.

"I didn't have time...plus, it doesn't get rid of it completely anyway.."

"But it sure does help! Charlie this happened 4 times today! It usually happen only 2 times when you take your meds."

"..."

"That's it; I'm picking you up and dropping you off from now on starting next Monday. Since you know I won't be here tomorrow since I have to visit my parents..."

"Are you sure you wanna go back there? From what you told me I couldn't image even thinking about visiting." He pulled out of the parking lot.

"Well, I know they aren't supporti-"

"They did more then just not support you and you know it Salem!" He looked down

"....."

"Charlie, I promise I'll be fine. If anything happens I'll call you right away." He glanced at me before focusing on the road.

3rd person P.O.V:

Charlie waved goodbye to Salem walking to the front door of the complex. Just as he went to put in the pin, he heard a screeching noise that sounded close by.

He hurried to unlock the door slamming it behind him as breathed heavily. Leaning against the door, he sighed as he stood up straight walking to the elevator.

He pressed the up button, waiting for the elevator as he heard a ding and the doors opened. He stepped inside as he pressed the 3rd floor. The door closed as the elevator made it's way up before it stopped and the elevator went dark.

Charlie began to panic and he frantically pressed the button to the 3rd floor, hoping it would work. Hyperventilating as the elevator beeped and it started to drop fast.

Falling to the floor he looked up at the red numbers to see the floor. Confusing enough, instead of numbers there was symbols that he couldn't read.

The elevator suddenly stopped as he heard the door slowly starting to open. Backing up against the back wall of the elevator he saw only darkness.

"Charlie..."

The voice spoke in a Demonic raspy voice as he saw a pair of red eyes. He shook in fear, gaining all the courage he had left, standing up as he ran to the buttons. Repeatedly pressing number 3, the doors suddenly closing as he heard the voice scream incoherent words.

He heard something running toward the elevator within the darkness but it was thankfully too late for the doors already closed.

Suddenly the lights turned back on as the elevator dinged for the third floor. The doors opened as he frantically got out and sped to his apartment. Pulling out his keys and opening the door, he closed and locked it behind him.

Walking to the bathroom he turned on the sink and rinsed his face as he looked up in the mirror. He looked horrified as he saw the huge bullet wound in his forehead.

The dark, thick blood that dripped down his face contrasted against his pale skin. His hair was a mess and he had huge black wings behind him; backing up from the mirror he hit his head against the wall behind.

He walked out the room and decided to lay down. He changed and grabbed his computer as he left his side table lap on, getting in bed. He opened up his search and type in therapy appointments and boomed one for that Friday which was in 3 days.

He put stayed up for maybe 2 more hours. By 11:34pm he decided to sleep. Closing his laptop as he laid down and shut his eyes.

I wanted to get to my goal but didn't, it was 1,500 words but I felt like I shouldn't add more or it would take longer to release. I hope you enjoyed though!
