(A black feather that slowly turns white on one side, rises leisurely into the air.)
She was in her room, nervous and excited, looking at the mirror, putting her glasses in place. Her hair was becoming silvery white, even when she was just a young adult, she couldn't avoid touching it, worried and thinking about how much it contrasted with her youthful pale skin.
She tried on different dresses and clothes, layering them on top, to see which one fit her best. Such an event called for elegant and fine attire since tomorrow she'll officially become an ovingudense agent.
"Hey, are you ready my beloved and sweet Dana? We'll be late for our dinner under the moon" said a red-haired woman, ironically imitating a man's voice, opening the door abruptly and surprising her.
"H-hey! You, Naisa! Shut it! I'm not dressed yet!"
"Oh... perhaps I shall let it open, not always you could see the beautiful white lady naked!"
"Come on! Don't call me that! Close it, please!"
"Fine, fine," said while entering and finally sealing the room.
"Why are you here, Naisa?"
"What? I can't see what my friend is doing? Are you keeping secrets?"
"It is not that."
"Seeing all those clothes, are you trying to impress a ghost?" she said, letting out a joyous laughter after that.
"Well, of course."
"I know, I know. I was passing by and decided to pay you a visit since tomorrow is your first day at work."
"Don't worry, I'll be busier, but I won't disappear."
"You better not."
Dana let out a worried sigh. Her friend smiled sweetly.
"I know that gaze, you're still the same, always getting concerned about everything!" continued Naisa. "I also know the news of ovingudenses suddenly going missing on their missions."
"...and in their belongings, there's always a raven's claw."
"Well, my friend, you might start tomorrow but don't think too much of it, they know about it, and surely won't let anything happen to a newbie... perhaps I should apply and become your adventure partner, to keep an eye on you."
"Naisa... You know you couldn't do anything."
"You don't have to rub it in my face, yes, I can't see spirits like you or anyone else in this damned city... having to see partially transparent people or just their empty clothes, walking the streets with other citizens, like my two uncles who are invisible to me! But at least I don't go grey that fast."
"Well, you didn't have to rub it, either."
"Come on! I think it looks beautiful on you, white lady," said Naisa, putting on a smiling mocking face, pronouncing the last two words louder, as she usually does when calling her that.
"Fine, but stop calling me white lady, it sounds weird."
"You can't deny that it's a great name, killjoy, in the end, you'll end up liking it... Well, let's focus now on your clothes," she said, as she grabbed a white attire, similar to an elegant wedding dress. "Are you seriously considering...this?" You're not getting married tomorrow, Dana. I also wouldn't let you do it without my permission."
The girls laughed at the same time, trying on different clothes, talking about many things, and having fun throughout the night, since tomorrow they will have less time to be together.
