Well, that was a rather sweet scene between (Y/n) and Kaede back there. Moreover, this was a rather early chapter for that sort of thing. Oh well, no complaints here, right? In any case, recap time.
So basically, our main girls (and titular protagonist) find themselves in the labyrinth of the Seance Shrine rumor. Iroha is presented with Ui and Yachiyo is presented with Mifuyu. However, the Ui inside of the Seance Shrine isn't the real one. Neither is Mifuyu. These were simply fabrications based off of what was written on votive plaques. Soon enough, after some time, they are met with the Commoner's Horse - which appears to be invincible. After some fighting, Iroha unleashes her mysterious Doppel due to the shock from not being able to see Ui again. It shreds the Commoner's Horse and defeats it, but it almost attacked - until Mami shot it and had a brief reunion with (Y/n). Later, Iroha finds herself in Yachiyo's abode, to where she is offered rest after the unfolded events. Afterwards, Kaede finds herself in a tight spot in a witch situation when she, too, unleashes her Doppel. Terrified by what happened, (Y/n) offers her comfort for what had happened - to which she gladly accepts.
Let's see where our protagonists are now.
???, 3RD PERSON POV
In an unknown place, music fills the air. Now this kind of music sounds a lot like one that would typically fill the air of a festival of some sort. However, contrary to its rather festive sound, that wasn't the case at all. There weren't any people in kimonos or taiko drums or anything like that.
Instead, there was the sound of what sounded like the cracking of an egg. That's exactly what it was: an egg was hatching, and from that egg hatched a rather hard-to-describe familiar. When given the proper circumstances, it now became evident:
The current setting resided within a witch's labyrinth. However, the familiar that only recently hatched was not the only one that was present. Other familiars with the same design as it were present as well.
They had spring-like bottoms, and they bounced in place while swaying side-to-side, seemingly dancing to the music.
Another kind of familiar was within the labyrinth, and it looked like an egg with a hole in the middle as well as two vaguely human-like legs.
Yet another variety of familiar was seen in the labyrinth, and it looked a lot like a high chair. It rocked about to the sides in time with the music in the background.
From the looks of things, there seemed to be some sort of party happening, although what it could've been for was typically anybody's guess.
From another viewpoint of the labyrinth, more details could be seen in retrospect. Black trees could be seen in the labyrinth to provide detail, and the floor looked like bisque-colored cloth. The sky of the labyrinth seemed black with white egg-like dots rolling about.
Sitting upon chairs seemed to be yet another type of familiar, although they looked a lot more human than the rest of the ones in the labyrinth. They looked like white mannequins with long sleeve-like arms, and the dresses and stockings they wore differentiated in terms of color. They lack any feet, so the ends of the stockings were pointed. Their heads were unique, no two seeming the same.
