1. Misfortunes never come alone

- I can't take it anymore! Let's divorce.

<<It's been 6 months since I got married.>>

- Did you hear what I said?

Late at night, Min Jae-Yoon suddenly came into the study and slammed hard on the desk. His silver silk pajamas fluttered.

Likewise, Kang Seung-Hyun, who was sitting wearing the same pair of pajamas, looked up. He didn't even move, revealing his sharp eyes. Even with a slight motion, from that viewing angle, the standing lights drew a soft glow in his glossy black hair.

Maybe because all of Min Jae-Yoon's nerves were focused on him. Beyond Kang Seung-Hyun's pajamas draped with a navy cardigan over his shoulders, he could feel his hard chest rising up and down delicately. There was no sign of surprise or embarrassment. In contrast, Min Jae-Yoon's sharply stretched pajamas wrapped around his waist had light wrinkles.

He glanced at Min Jae-Yoon, whose face was flushed in the meantime, and pulled the cardigan covering him and handed it over. Then, with indifferent eyes, he picked up the laptop and turned around.

- You'll catch a cold.

Min Jae-Yoon made a wide wave of his hand. The navy cardigan fell and covered the laptop that Kang Seung-Hyun was looking at.

- I don't need this!

Kang Seung-Hyun's eyes, which had firmly stretched out, were cool. Min Jae-Yoon swallowed his dry saliva. He barely managed to give strength to his toes to prevent himself from faltering back. He stretched out the paper held in his left hand.

- I wrote it all down, so I just need you to sign it.

Kang Seung-Hyun, who looked through the "Consultation Divorce Confirmation," finally made eye contact with Min Jae-Yoon.

- It's already the second time?

Kang Seung-Hyun's voice, which didn't reveal either highs or lows, seemed to put a silent pressure on him.

Min Jae-Yoon's chest was so tight that it was hard to even breathe, but he didn't try to avert his gaze. This was because Kang Seung-Hyun's pupils were shaking as if about to cross to the dangerous level. They were the eyes of a predator awaiting for the prey to turn his back, ready to pounce.

Kang Seung-Hyun's long fingertips, which were taken off his laptop, rubbed his beautifully trimmed jawline. The wedding ring on the fourth finger showed off its colorful light. He seemed to be lost in thought, and suddenly leaned his back on the chair as if he had relaxed his whole body.

- What did you hear from someone else?

- That's not it*!
(T.N: In this case the author used the phrase '아니' 'ani', that means 'no', but I replaced it to give more sense to the argument.)

He was a tough opponent impossible to defeat in a long conversation. It was a no-brainer that, like last time, he would fizzle out the refusal from the other side. Min Jae-Yoon added in a firm voice.

-If you like work so much, then just live for work, why did you marry me?

Min Jae-Yoon turned around. He strode back the way he came. Almost 20 years. The length of time he knew Kang Seung-Hyun, including their marriage.

- I have to remove that too.

Min Jae-Yoon, who was crossing the living room, stopped short. He looked up at the wedding picture on the wall. He quickly searched around, something worth stepping on....

A cream-colored sofa was sitting alone in the spacious living room. Various ornaments were placed on the surrounding shelves. A wedding sculpture as a gift between expensive props, a pair of hugging rabbits. On one side, there was an interior fireplace as if to relieve the emptiness, and a Christmas tree, which was placed in one of the unfilled spaces, sparkled still.
