CHERRY GARCIA!

is not cut out for Cobra Kai.

She was too nice. Empathy wasn't a virtue in the dojo, it was a weakness. Kindness was naive. It was stupid.

It's not like she could deny it, either.

She constantly went out of her way to do things for other people.

She thought it was the bare minimum, that she was just being a decent human. It upset her that more people weren't kind. The world that existed in her mind, as pointed out by Kyler, seemed to be made of cotton candy.

Cherry didn't have a problem with that. She didn't care that people thought she was an idiot. She enjoyed the way she was. She was not going to allow herself to be shamed for the love she had.

Even if the love she had was so big it didn't fit in her heart. Even if it made her miserable.

The first time she'd stepped into the dojo, she'd worn a cute outfit and was smiling. Her smiling figure was an unusual sight, as she stood beside a sign that read no mercy.

The mere thought of violence made Cherry wince. She didn't understand why people had to hurt each-other. Well, she did, but she didn't like it.

Her existence was pure in a way that seemed sinful. No one could be that perfect, the Hello Kitty charm that dangled from her backpack seemed mocking.

The scent of candy wafted off of her, the strong perfume lingering in any place she'd stepped foot in.

She found a way to see beauty in every little thing. The scent of plants when it was raining. Zodiac signs and rose water. The color of bubblegum. The moon, the sun, the stars.

Nail polish and pomegranates. Sweet femininity. The ocean. The moon cycle and the change in seasons. The violence of heartbreak in spring, when you want to tear your heart out and bury it under a bed of flowers.

Fashion magazines. Quiet and empty. Fate. Kiss marks on coloring pages, sunsets and high heels, nature and beauty, lipgloss, and the feeling of love.

She was soft, like heaven.

Her entire life was sugar coated. She was either really lucky, or it was true that you received the love you gave.

Of course it didn't make any sense when she joined Cobra Kai, the most violent dojo in the valley. Even if she was interested in a sport, why one that involved hitting and kicking?

Cherry preferred to talk things out, not fight. What good would she do on a team for karate? Why would cherry put herself in the middle of a karate war? To make peace? They would never listen.

The kindness that ran through her blood made it difficult for her to say no to people.

It wasn't that she was weak. She wasn't. She just didn't feel like she needed violence to resolve things.

Kyler didn't believe that was possible. Cherry looked too scared to break a nail, how could she benefit their team?

Cherry hated when people talked down to her for being empathetic. Kyler gave her directions to the nearest mall, and Cherry would make her way over after she broke his nose.

She hated people assuming stuff about her. Kyler urged her to do something about it.
