Barbara Majeski

Barbara Majeski (born Barbara Schwartz) is an American Television Personality, Philanthropist, and Lifestyle Expert. Commonly referred to as the "Curator of the Good Life," she is best known for her appearances on NBC, ABC, Fox News, The Today Show, Inside Edition, and The Nick Cannon Show.

Majeski worked as an intern at Bloomberg Financial Markets in Human Resources through high school and college, all while waiting for tables to pay for her studies. Finally, in 1996, Majeski graduated from Towson State University with her Bachelor's degree in Health Education and joined an ambitious direct sales start-up in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 2011 Majeski started working with Operation Smile. In 2015 Majeski hosted a Holocaust Memorial Event in Princeton, NJ. She was also awarded a Global Humanitarian Award and was honored by Johnson and Johnson.

EARLY LIFE

She was born in Livingston Township, New Jersey. Majeski and her twin brother were one of two pairs of twins in their household. Her mother, Eleanor, a triplet herself, was no stranger to the grand adventure that multiples promised. However, when Majeski's younger brother, Steven, was born with special needs, it was clear that their journey would be different than most.

Early on, Majeski dedicated herself to ensuring that Steven was always taken care of and that he would never be institutionalized. What seemed like a selfless act in the beginning quickly turned into one of the most important decisions of her life. This driving force would push her to achieve more than she ever thought possible and inspire her to overcome her life's fight when she could just as quickly have given up. Humor became their saving grace over the years, and, in essence, this is Steven's story as much as it is Majeski's.

CAREER

After graduating from Towson State University, Majeski joined a start-up in Atlanta, Georgia. The role saw her spending her 20s learning about the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, leadership, and how to scale sales teams across the United States effectively. Starting as a door-to-door salesperson, this 'cold call commission sales' chapter in her life nurtured her business acumen, having to think on her feet and stand tall in the face of adversity. In addition, it instilled the discipline and mental fortitude to hold her in good stead for the challenges ahead. During this time, her ability to read audiences and make meaningful connections with people came to the forefront when she found herself excelling in inspiring, motivating, and educating others. It also helped Majeski to realize her talent for finding, recruiting, and retaining high-level talent in the telecommunications, internet, and technology sector, where Majeski later helped the company build strong national teams.

PERSONAL LIFE

Majeski married James Majeski in 2003. Majeski & Majeski have 3 Children, Gabe (born December 21, 2003), Max (born October 24, 2005), and Milena (born September 22, 2011). In 2016 Majeski filed for divorce.

In 2016 not only was Majeski's marriage ending, but she also received a devastating blow of advanced-stage colon cancer and was facing six months of chemotherapy. Completely blindsided, she was forced to move on and start anew. The next few months would be the most trying of her life. She was physically and emotionally exhausted and had to summon all her strength to get through each day. However, in the darkest moments, she thought about Steven, his zest for life, and her promise to him as a teenager. She had been given the gift of purpose early on in her life, and what was to follow only proved that everything that happened, all the major shifts and tiny nuances she had experienced, were simply the universe aligning to ensure that she was exactly where she was supposed to be.

PHILOSOPHY

Majeski is a firm believer and cannot emphasize enough - the more you give, the more you get. The universe will conspire in your favor in ways you can never understand.
