A year and a half ago:

"Why do you keep getting so many messages, Harry? Who's this? I've told you countless times not to divert your mind anywhere, but, boy you never listen. Do you plan on ruining your career for the sake of useless people?", his father's stern voice boomed through the walls of his huge house.

"No, sir. That's just a friend. Nothing more. I'll not talk to him anymore, Sir", Harry apologized, not wanting to let down his father.

"I've seen a lot of people your age, Harry. They just sleep around, whiling away their time, without a proper goal or future plans. I don't want you to make friends with such people. They aren't worth your time. I just hope you come to your senses soon", he ordered making Harry nod in agreement.

He walked out of his house quickly and got into his car as his phone started ringing. He ignored but it started ringing again incessantly. He sighed but picked it up eventually, while revving up the engine.

"Jacob", he spoke tiredly, lacking the usual happy tone.

"What happened, babe? You don't sound fine", his boyfriend of two years asked in concern. Jacob and Harry were the cliche Highschool sweethearts who loved each other very much to break up despite the distance.

"You're gonna get me into trouble one of these days. I literally gave a two hour long lesson on why you shouldn't contact me while I'm back home. But you never listen. Do you?", Harry reprimanded his boyfriend who just laughed it off.

"Your face distracted me, babe. How do you manage to look so pleasing even through a video call?", he flirted making Harry blush hard.

"Shut up, J. I'm serious. I told you about my father. Why did you do that?", Harry whined as his boyfriend chuckled.

"To ask you if you wanna go on a date tonight. I'll be in town for two days or so and I wanted to meet you", he proposed as Harry felt bad to deny.

"I can't go today. Have an assignment to catch up on. Will tomorrow be okay?", Harry explained.

"Then, you must spend the whole day with me tomorrow. No other plans", he pleaded as he gave in.

"Ok. Pick me up around 9 am tomorrow from my university", he instructed as his boyfriend accepted before hanging up.

The whole day, Harry immersed himself into the never ending ocean of books and countless pages of assignment. He hadn't even had a moment to breathe properly. The impatient knocking on his door disturbed his concentration. He decided to ignore it at the beginning but when it didn't stop, Harry opened the door only to find Niall and Nick at his door, with an annoying grin plastered on their faces which could only mean, something idiotic.

"No", Harry replied, trying to close his door when they caught onto the handle, giving Harry a soft look which mostly works wonders. "I've work to do. Go away", he tried to chase them away.

"You're studying always, mate. Letting yourself lose once in a while isn't a bad thing. Come on, H", Nick tried convincing him.

"No. I'm not going to let myself get distracted. No way, guys. Let me do my work in peace", he tried his best.

"Just a couple of shots with us. Nothing more, H. We aren't even leaving the campus. You can come back to your dorm after some time", Niall bargained as Harry thought about it. Deciding that he had been only studying since noon, he decided to accept because he could use a drink or two right now. His brain had been fried by his father and he needed some liquid into his system to function further.
