The Prince in Distress

Chapter One

Valencia's armor gleamed in the mirror as she looked in awe. She had decided to walk that day to stretch her legs. Each step she took made her legs ache. She had been training for hours yesterday taking little to no breaks. After fifteen lengthy minutes, that seemed like forever Valencia had finally arrived. When she arrived she began to notice how crowded the headquarters were. There had to be at least a thousand knights in the room. The large crowd had worried her a bit but she disregarded that and took deep breath to calm herself. "Relax Valencia," she told herself. "This shouldn't intimidate you, you've practiced for hours each day". "Chill out". The large amount of people caused the headquarters to be very rambunctious. That would soon come to an end when the king walked through the doors with his stern look. It was shocking to Valencia how quiet the headquarters could be after being so noisy. Then again the King was known to be very strict if you didn't comply. The hushed crowd listened as the King began. "I have gathered you all today to see which one of you has the potential to protect my son." The King then motioned Prince Atlas to move forward. Some of the knights look at him in awe. I stared with a blank look on my face. I don't know why people idolize the Prince so much. This is one of the only times he's ever left the castle. He's such a secretive person. I understand people like privacy and may not enjoy the company of others but he hasn't been spotted outside in years. If I get selected as the knight to watch over the prince I hope to find out some of his personal information along the way.  I want to know what he's hiding.
