Love Under The Moon

Chapter Two

Michi's POV

"Michi, we found rebels that had tried to attack and steal some of our trading supplies, I want you to go with some men to take care of them." My father says in a stern voice. I couldn't believe my father was sending me to fight the rebels.

"We are going to have a meeting in a little while to go over what was seen and to confirm the information" He says softly

My mother just ate her food as if her husband didn't send her child to go fight a war he had started from before I was born. I could only sigh and nod my head, I had already lost my appetite and pushed the dish forward as I stood leaving the room. My birthday was not long ago, and I had just turned 20, I just learned to control my wolf form while I was around others. I was not ready to fight, nonetheless.

I continued to walk before sensing someone charging at me from behind and I managed to move away in time for me to see my friend leap forward and tumble to the ground. He sat up with an annoyed look on his face as he looked up at me, we both stared at each other for a moment before we both started laughing.

"Damn, you are getting better at dodging my attacks," He says taking a deep breath of air from laughing so hard.

"You do it every time you visit the household, how can I not get better at dodging you?" I questioned as I held my hand out to help him up from the ground.

"My mother's going to kill me for sure this time, this is one of my best set of clothes" He says ignoring what I said before grabbing my hand I shook my head and pulled him up.

"Well maybe don't play rough for once... But why are you here anyways?" I asked softly and helped him brush off any traces of dirt before his mother seen him or appeared out of nowhere.

"Ah, right I am being sent to help with the attack on the rebel camp, apparently there is a Buddhist temple that helps aid them" He gives an excited smile.

"Is this the same place I'm being sent to take care of?" I asked as he shrugs and looks around our surrounding before leaning close to me.

"Probably, but apparently, they aided some survivors of the Tanaka clan from the first ever attack lead by your father. One of our men was almost beaten to death and was brought there by a monk... This is how we learned of the area and whereabouts of the clan."

"Wait how does he know that there are Tanaka clan members in the temple?" I asked as Leo just shrugged turned to start walking.

"I'm not sure myself, but he is an older clan member, so he probably knows one or more from the monk's temple... Though I did hear there was this beautiful woman at the temple that seemed like a high priestess." I heard Leo say before he stopped in his tracks

I looked up at Leo then looked where he was looking and saw my father speaking with Leo's mother as she only looked at me and scoffed before she looked back at my father like she didn't just insult his son.

"Father, when is the meeting for going to the rebels?" I asked softly, my head was bowed in respect as Leo also bowed. Looking at him I could tell he was excited for his first mission.

"We are about to have a meeting soon, but I need to speak with you and Leo first about a side mission. Go to the meeting room and I will join to in a moment" He says as I nod bowing my head once more and grabbed Leo's sleeve pulling him with me.

After entering the room, we noticed no one else was in there, after looking at each other we shrugged and took a seat in our meeting spot. My father soon came in with an annoyed look on his face, one of the generals of our clan followed him. I noticed it was Leo's father when he turned, he looked at me and bowed his head politely since I was still higher than him in some form of ranks. I could tell he wasn't pleased when he had to do it.
