Capitano
-
My dearest captain,
It has been quite some time since we've last seen each other. Fontaine is as beautiful as you once described, though I wish it was not my division I was seeing it with. There's much work to be done, but I believe we will successfully carry out the Tsaritsa's will. After this is over, I hope you will switch my division as we discussed before I left. Childe can be rather...well, his antics are certainly entertaining.
As for more serious matters, I'm sure you already know I didn't write this letter just to exchange pleasantries. I believe I have found the merchant you told me about, but he doesn't seem too keen on dealing with the Fatui. It will be rather difficult to convince him, and I think Childe is beginning to grow suspicious of me. Then again, he must also have his own motives to personally partake in a mission like this. Regardless, I will find a way to persuade the merchant, even if I have to employ some outside measures. That is why you chose me to do this, am I wrong?
By the time this letter reaches you, the moon should already be full. I bet you're sipping on a glass of wine right now; you better not drink all of that blend I ordered specially from Mondstadt—you know that's my favorite. You may be my superior but I will make you regret it.
In one month's time, if another letter has not reached you, assume that I am returning from Fontaine. Although, I suppose I could be dead, too. That's not uncommon in this line of work.
To our continued victory,
Y/n
Capitano set the letter down and glanced up away from his desk towards the moon. It was indeed full just as Y/n had predicted. He wasn't sure if the letter was sent from a lover or a subordinate, but the sender certainly had a way of getting what she wanted. He would be sure to reward her properly when she returned, for she was the only one in the right position for these kind of jobs. She knew it, too.
He took another sip from the same wine Y/n explicitly wrote not to drink. He didn't care for the taste too much—he often drank it when they were apart because it reminded him of her. He'd never tell her that, though, because she'd probably use it against him. He'll just let her think he really likes that wine.
"Until we unite again, Y/n," he said.
