8. a little less salt, maybe?

I had been scrolling through TikTok the last hour as I usually do. When I came across a video I had to try out. Basically you make a sauce and put a bunch of salt on the tasting spoon. Then you ask a person to try it and film their reaction. I laughed a bit to myself knowing exactly who to test it on. Flo.

Florence is very passionate about food. So I was interested to know if she would correct my mistake or just pretend to like it. She's an actor after all. It was soon dinner time and Flo had bought ingredients for spaghetti bolognese.

"Flo?" I ask her while she unpacks the grocery bag.

"Yes darling" she replied.

"Could I make the sauce today, I really want to get better at it" I said starting my plan.

"Of course you can, I love your help" she said looking up at me smiling.

"Thank you" I said giving her a quick peck on her cheek.

Flo had just started boiling the pasta water, and I cut the tomatoes for the sauce. I jumped a bit when I felt two hands wrap around my waist.

"What are you doing Flo?" I chuckled.

"Admiring your work" she says hugging me a bit tighter.

"I love you" I said.

"I love you too hun" she said letting go. I looked back at her with a 'why did you let go' look. She read me like a book.

"I have to do some quick work, and it looks like you have everything under control" she said.

"Okay, I have everything under control" I said giving her a reassuring look.

"Call me down if you need anything" she was out of sight.

My sauce was done now, and it was time to do what I had intended to. I set up my phone, trying to hide that I'm filming. I got the salt out and poured it on my table spoon. Then covered it with the sauce. I took the smallest I could find, because I didn't want her to die.

"FLO CAN YOU COME DOWN FOR A SEC" I screamed from the kitchen. A few moment later I heard a "COMING" from the stairs.

"What's the matter?" she asked as she entered the kitchen.

"Could you just try the sauce to see if it's good?" I asked her, holding up the spoon.

"I have tasted it and it was good, but I want your opinion" I added.

"Of course" she said and she came closer. I lifted the spoon up to her mouth and she put it in her mouth. Not gonna lie I felt a little bit bad at that moment, but hopefully it was going to be worth it.

Florence looked up at me with a face of 'what the heck is this' but I could see she was trying to hide it.

"So what do you think" I asked, faking an excited tone just for fun. She started coughing and ran to the sink to drink water.

"You okay Flo?" I asked genuinely a bit worried. She put her finger up signaling to give her a minute. After some time she finished and stood up.

"I guess you didn't like it" I said putting on a sad face. She walked over to me.

"It was good, but add a little less salt, maybe" she said with a slight giggle. I looked up at her and I couldn't keep pretending anymore.

"It worked ahhahaha" I laughed and Flo just looked at me confused.

"What worked?" she asked.

"My prank" I said pointing to my phone. She looked up at me, looking a bit mad. I quickly stopped laughing.

"I'm sorry Flo, really" I said trying to make up for myself. Then it was her time to laugh.

"You should've seen your face" she laughed.

"You went from happy to sad so fast" she said mimicking my faces. I looked at her relieved that she wasn't actually mad.

"I put salt under the sauce, and I wanted to see if you would pretend you liked it or do what ever you just did" I explained while laughing again.

"Good because I would've actually been mad if you ruined the whole sauce" she said, shoving my shoulder.

"What if I said that is the case" I laughed. She gave me a stern look.

"I'm just kidding geez, here you can taste it" I said getting a new spoon.

"That was better" she said after she tasted the actual sauce.

We sat down to eat our dinner, and we laughed at the video I filmed.

"Your face hahaha" I laughed. She joined in.

"As miserable as the experience was, I have to admit it looked very funny" Flo said laughing more.

We finished eating and I was washing the dishes. Flo came in with a mischievous look on her face. She put her hand under the water and splashed it all over me. I looked up at her and she was laughing harder then ever.

"You didn't think I would let this go, without getting you back" she said in between laughs.

"Oh game on" I replied.
