Wade couldn't believe his eyes! He had it! After dedicating half his life looking for the connections now he had it! He could get his father put away once and for all.
Years earlier
The sun shined, and the tree's bent and danced in the fierce wind. Wade stared out the window, bored out of his mind. He leaned back in his kitchen chair.
"I'm bored."
"Sucks to be you, I guess. I always have something to do." Wade's father smirked.
"What do you even do every day?"
"Ah. You see, that is for me to know and for you to find out." He leaned down, got uncomfortably close to Wade's face, and booped Wade's nose, his eyes twinkling.
Wade's father was a decent-looking man. Except for the fact that he had black and empty eyes, he was very handsome with his long honey brown hair pulled into a neat bun on the back of his head, a neatly trimmed Goatee on his chin, and his eyebrow slit; the aftermath of a vertical cut on his right eyebrow.
"Why don't you go read one of your fantasy books or something?"
Wade rolled his eyes.
That's what his dad called romance novels. His dad believed love was fake. Wade couldn't be too annoyed with the comment because it's not like he'd ever experienced love, so Wade had no proof love's genuine, but still, Wade found it pleasant to believe it is.
"I'm still waiting for my new books to be delivered."
Wade's father pulled out a cigarette, stuck it in his mouth, and lit it. Wade stuck out his hand and waited for his father to supply him with one, and when he did, Wade blew a few puffs and then decided, "I think I'll visit Dottie today, she wanted to show me something."
"Ok. I don't care." His dad shrugged.
"Ok, then it's settled I'll go visit Dottie and you'll go do whatever it is you do every day."
"Ok."
"Ok."
Wade stood up abruptly and pushed in his chair. It's always been like this between his dad and him, Wade was just the accident, accidentally made when his dad fucked some woman from a different kingdom just because it was an arranged marriage. Wade's mom killed herself after he was born.
It was his fault for being born.
Or at least this was all the shit his father had brainwashed him with.
Wade glanced at his arm. The scars were still there from when Wade had tried to kill himself last year. He passed a window. The scar was still on his face from his father's outburst. Specifically, a cut over his nose from the small pocket knife his father had had on hand when he got mad at Wade.
Wade stopped to throw away his cigarette he didn't feel like listening to Dottie's lecture about how cigarettes are bad for the average man, let alone an eight-year-old child... Blah blah blah.
The long hallway to the other end of the building was very large and long. Windows lined each wall creating squares of sunlight on the carpeted floor. The air seemed to have an orangy hue to it as he walked down the hallway. Finally, Wade reached a large oak door labeled "Healer" and he lifted his hand to knock.
Dottie yanked open the door before his fist even brushed against the door.
"Come in, Come in." She whispered sharply.
Confused wade stepped in and Dottie slammed the door behind him.
He shouldn't have come in but he did. All the signs told him not to but he did. Now he'll end up paying the price for that decision.
