"And even though people dislike the Old Testament, we need to see that God did love those living in that time, and His love is never changing. Thank you for coming and please enjoy the rest of your day." I closed my Bible, standing to farewell the the ladies who attended the bible study.

Today marks a full month that I've been back to my hometown, and it's sad not to have David here but every day is getting better.

"Angela, hi." A familiar woman greets as I was packing the chairs we were occupying.

The longer I looked at her, the more familiar she looked but I just can't  seem to wrap my finger on where I know her from, "hi, forgive me but I seem to have forgotten who you are."

"It's fine," she smiled at me, "Mrs Gordon."

"Ohhhh! I am so sorry, I can't believe I forgot the person that was always there during my teenage years!" I rushed to give her a hug, "how are you?"

"I'm surviving, business is going well but family is stressful."

"I know, I only have my aunt and uncle but yeah, it's not easy." We both started laughed.

Mrs Gordon was the lady my father worked for. He was specifically tasked with driving her around, one day she met my mother and they became friends. When she wanted to escape her life for a few days she would come stay with us but that was when I was really young. It all changed when she gave birth to her son. She did visit but it wasn't as frequent as before and the visits turned to once or twice a year after my father died since we had to move to another city. And the last time I saw her was at my mother's funeral.

"I heard about David, how are you holding on in that department?" She asked as we both walk out of the church to the garden at the back.

"Frankly, it has not been easy. I sometimes wake up and think that he still with me so you'll find me calling out his name. That worries my aunt and uncle but God is keeping me together."

"I'm glad He is, everything will be alright. I promise you." She cupped my hands, "as for me, I just can't wait to meet my creator. This world has drained me."

"I'm going to need your kind of draining because you look spectacular!"

The smile finally reached her beautiful eyes, "you can't look like your problems."

"True, how is your son?" I asked, not missing how stiff her body went, "is he alright?"

"H-he is...in fact he is back from the university, he graduated."

"That is great! Do I need to bake for hi-"

"No!" She shouted, scaring the skirt off me, "I'm sorry, it's just that he...he doesn't want to see people. He grew up to be even more difficult than expected."

"I'm so sorry, I do remember how he was always acting out when he was young."

"But never when you were around, he knew how to behave himself."

"Come to think of it, that is true. The first time I met him I despised him but as time went by I didn't believe that he was the kid everyone was complaining about. I think he took me as his role model."

"Yes one might think that." She balanced her ring, "I think he fancied you."

"That is insane! But if it's true then I hope he doesn't anymore because it's been really long and he was really young."
