A/N: If you follow me on IG, I asked on my story last week, (i think) what are some of the what if's of Nabrina that you'd like to explore, one of my friends suggested: What if Sabrina hadn't broken up in part 3?
Now, even though the breakup was hard, and I didn't really like it, I came to terms with it and thought that it was necessary for both of them. But if they didn't "break up", this is my take on it.
-------------------------------------------------
Stay
And I'll be loving you for quite some time
No one else is gonna love me when I get mad, mad, mad
So I think that it's best if we both stay, stay, stay
...
Sabrina's heart was beating like a drum, her feet almost running. Ambrose had just told her that Nick was back to his feet and was resting in his room. After everything bad that had happened that day, and is actually still happening, she needed this. Some good news at last. The only thing that could seal the deal was to know if removing her father's residue was successful. With that, she crossed her fingers.
After seeing him on the floor of the dungeon, she swore to herself that he would never let him out of her sight again. She knew that he was going through something, she just didn't know that it was this bad. At least, not after they had that fight in the woods. She hasn't even been able to process that with their waning powers and then the pagans, and then she saw him there. On the floor, almost dying.
She wasn't able to leave his side, then. No matter how exhausted she was. Luckily, with some time to herself as they waited for Nick to wake, it made her think and process everything. Everything that has happened ever since they rescued him. I should've seen the signs, she blamed herself. If only I had paid more attention. But how was she to know that being the Queen of Hell would be such an arduous job? She thought Lilith could do all the work until she'd figure out what to do with the title. Then all of a sudden, the surfer dude, Caliban wants her throne and has made it into a competition. Not to mention their waning powers, the Dark Lord, and her friends.
She had been totally swamped. And Nick... She sighed, feeling a heavy weight on her chest. He had been dealing with all the after-effects of imprisoning the Dark Lord inside of him alone. It's not like Sabrina hasn't tried though. Nick just kept brushing it off whenever she would ask him what happened down there, or well, what happened in Hell.
"I just wish he would've told me, auntie. Now, I don't know what to do." She told her Aunt Hilda who came to also check up on Nick that night.
"Oh, darling. Just being there for him would be enough." She patted Sabrina lightly on the back. "As for him not telling you, you must remember dear that he was raised by a werewolf, grew up at the Academy under Blackwood's wing, and has since been surrounded by witches and warlocks who'd rather drink their feelings away. It's not you, Sabrina."
"I just thought I was the exception." She sighed. Though he had told her of what he's been through in Hell, it just wasn't in a way she'd expected.
However, whatever hurtful words he had uttered, though it still pained her, she'd already decided to forgive him. A residue of the Dark Lord was in him when he said those words and like Ambrose had told her earlier, it had been corrupting him. She knew Nick and she knew that it wasn't him talking. All she wanted right now was to see him again.
