Part Two :School

Mikkel wakes at the sound of his bedroom door opening. His father steps in and claps his hands, making him sit up.

"Up. Prepare for your training."he demands before leaving the room.

Mikkel huffs, getting up.

...

Today, the entire school was to be addressed in the court yard before school by Yosef. An announcement.

Upon arrival, Mikkel sees two children standing before everyone, both with hoods over their heads.

Mikkel, who had seen it happen before, instantly knew what was happening.

Yosef walks before the silent crown as Jin walks up next to Mikkel.

"These two demons tried to escape our home last night."he takes the hoods off their heads and displays their faces.

"Out there, in the bush. They were fighting for there lives. Fighting for their lives. Look at them."

They were covered in cuts and marks, grass stains and mud.

"So, I'll use them to teach you all."he says, pointing to the large well in the center of the court yard.

The two children begin whimpering as they're forced to stand on the ring of the well.

"Now, you children like to fight for your lives, let's see who wants to survive more."Yosef says, nodding to one of the guards.

The guard shoves both children off the edge and into the well, both of them screaming the whole way down.

Then there were two loud splashes into the icy water below.

"THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO CHILDREN WHO DISOBEY!"Yosef shouts at the rest of the kids as the echos of the children in the well were being cut off as they covered it with the big wooden well cover.

Mikkel closes his eyes and let's a single tear fall down his cheek. But Jin quickly swipes it away, as crying was seen as weak. And the punishment for being weak is worse than the well.

Mikkel takes a deep breath, opening his eyes again and seeing the well be sealed.

"Straighten, straighten."Jin demands, pulling Mikkel's shoulders back.

Mikkel stands straight as Yosef speaks.

"This school is your home. You are fed, bathed, taught, and loved here. All of my children are loved. Be not like these two demons. Go to your classes."Yosef demands.

The crowd begins to move and Mikkel heads towards his class.

"I don't want you sneaking out anymore, Jin."Mikkel says as they walk together.

"What? I've done it a thousand times, I've never been caught."Jin chuckles quietly.

"Did you see what I just saw? Those kids aren't going to last two days in that well, they're going to die Jin. They're killing escapee's."Mikkel says.

"Well they won't kill me, they won't find out."Jin says.

"I'm serious."Mikkel says.

Jin drops his goofy smile.

"Okay, I won't."Jin says.

"Good."Mikkel says before turning into his classroom.

.....

I breathe through my nose, biting the gag hard as I pull myself up.

"47."the teacher counts.

I hiss as a let myself down and bite down on the gag.
