???: I'm sorry Mike, but I need some time with family. I'll let you know if I'm returning next February or not.

Michael: I get it John, we were all shook up by his death. Go home, I'll keep your contract open.

John: Thanks Mike, you always were the best drafting partner. Say hi to your brother for me.

With this short exchange, John "Ike" Toretto was done with NASCAR for the foreseeable future. Walking out of DEI, he heads to his car.

Dom might have been afraid of muscle cars after his father died, but Ike wasn't. Granted it's not exactly a muscle car with its 3.8 Liter V-6 and turbo. But it gave a lot of cars a taste of gapplebees.

After sitting in the car for a moment, Ike thought about going home.

Ike: I'm sure Letty and Mia would be happy to see me. Dom and Vince? I'm not so sure. I wonder if Raven ever married her boyfriend Tai.

With out realizing it, he was already on the highway heading west on his way to California.

Figuring that it's going to be a long drive anyway, Ike turns off the main highway, heading for old Route 66.

The owner clearly thinking that he could won on the poor buick owner was in for a real treat.

Ike honked his horn to acknowledge the challenge, with both cars slowing down to 30 miles per hour. Shifting down to second, Ike was waiting for the three horns to punch it.

After a minute, the horns sound and Ike floors it. After some turbo lag and shifting into third and finally into fourth, he saw that the ferrari was behind him by 2 car lengths. After slowing down as to not get pulled over, Ike continued his journey towards LA.

After another two days on the road, Ike finally saw the beginning of the end. He gets his first glimpses of the Los Angeles skyline. Knowing it was only another 2 hours to the family market, he began to relax.

Rolling down the windows to enjoy the fresh air, the memories of middle and high school with both Mia and Dom. It's hard to believe they're both related.

Getting off the highway, and pulling into echo park, he prepares himself to either be crushed in a hug, or a punch to the face. Or both. Rounding the final turn, he lays his eyes on the market. But there's something different.

Ike: All of their high school ricers are there. But that pickup, unless Dom finally decided to get something useful.

Pulling into the final parking spot in front of the shop, Ike parked the car and reves the engine for a second.

(00:35 - 00:43)

Everyone including the racing gang looked at the mysterious black coupes that rolled up.

Vince: Hey! Whose grandma decided to roll up?

Leon, Jesse, and Letty all laughed at this. Until they saw who stepped out of the car.

Leon, Jesse, and Vince were all in a stunned silence, all the while Letty and Mia, who at the time was talking to some kid at the counter, ran at Ike and tackled him to the ground.

Ike: Oof.. That hurt.. Hey sis, hey Letty.  Uh, can I please get up?

Both girls: No! You'll leave again!

Dom from within the shop: Mia! Let him up. He just drove here from North Carolina.

With that, both girls let him up, but stayed clinging to him. The kid at the bar, clearly disheartened by the scene gets ready to leave, but gets stopped by a hand. Thats connected to Vince.
