Shattered Glass

Present

Just when you think everything's going according to plan, a surprising force will barge in and destroy the peace that you've been working hard on.

Yes, it has been eight years since I last saw him. And it still hurt just the same.

I willed myself not to show any emotion when I was introduced to the asshole, the  appointed CEO of the newly merged Ysmael and Alba Group of Companies. My ex boyfriend who left me shattered into pieces.

" Mr. Sebastian Madrigal meet our VP, Miss Alexandria Reyes, from the Ysmael  Branch in Australia. She just transferred here a week ago.", pakilala ng Corporate Secretary.

With his signature smirk, he extended his hand to me. Wala akong nagawa but to shake his hand. All eyes are on us. He  looks devilishly handsome with a bigger frame now.

" Good evening , Mr. Madrigal." I greeted him formally with no hint of any recognition whatsoever.

" Gorgeous as ever," Seb said.
Parang hindi sya nagulat na nakita ako dito. And he squeezed my hand pa, kung makatitig. The nerve!!! Naiiyak na ako sa sobrang galit at inis. Parang wala lang sa kanya ang ginawa nya sakin dati. It took me 8 years bago bumalik ng Pinas. All because of him.

I excused myself  to greet the other senior members of the company, mostly male. Some of them are Seb's cousins. Their stares, sobra. As if they're stripping me naked. Ugh, I should have bought my own dress and not relied on my secretary. Too revealing for my taste kahit pa branded. At bakit nga ba umattend pa ako ng welcome party na ito. I could have stayed in my condo and watched netflix  or better yet, I should have stayed in Australia! Bakit pa kase biglang nag merge ang dalawang kompanya. Seb's mom owns Alba Corporation. Yeah, they're filthy rich.

Ano ba naman kamalasan ko.  Minsan lang ako nag aspire at eto ang nangyari. I was promised a VP position in Ysmael Corp. Philippine Office kaya umuwi ako ng bansa. Accomodation included. Saan ka pa. Nakuntento na lang sana ako bilang Marketing Manager sa Australia. Hay..

And he is at my tail pa. Ano bang problema nito. He is everywhere. He even sat beside me during dinner. Good thing though, Seb's cousin, Justin, sat across from me and keeps on asking questions.

" Ang ganda mo talaga," sabi ni Justin. I just smiled at him shyly and I caught Seb glaring at him. Napatawa ng malakas si Justin.
"Covering bases, aren't we, huh?" pang-aasar pa ni Justin.

I stood up and was cornered by Jig for a dance. He also transferred here from Australia. He looked around and said, " Mas marami pala akong ka kumpetensya sayo dito," 
Napatawa naman ako at sabay hampas sa kanyang braso.
Si Jig ang kaunahan kong naging kaibigan when I moved to Australia. Not only  is he good looking, meron din syang sense of humor at parating nakangiti.

Seb suddenly cuts in and snaked his arm at my waist. Bringing me to the center of the dancefloor.
Nananadya din ang tadhana because the band suddenly played Coldplay's Yellow. Our so-called song back then.

Seb moved closer and sang to my ear  " Look at the stars, look how they shine for you.." I shivered. Bakit ganon pa din ang epekto nya sakin. Oh no, this has to stop.

" What the hell are you up to, Mr Madrigal?!" i said.

"You've changed, a vixen now, enjoying the ogling." Seb replied  in an accusing manner. 

"You're still arrogant and rude as ever. "  naiinis ko na sagot.

"Flashing everyone your legs and chest, I see." Seb mockingly said.

Hindi ko na sya pinansin and I left him right after the song ended. I don't wanna make a scene.

And I just drank the night away. Mahina pa naman ang alcohol tolerance ko. Bahala na si Batman.

I woke up the next day with  a terrible headache. Ang bigat ng pakiramdam ko na parang may naka dagan sakin. 

Napamulat ako bigla. What the hell!! This isn't my room. A familiar shirtless guy next to me groaned.

"Babe, aren't you tired from what we did last night. Go back to sleep," Seb said.

My eyes widened when I looked underneath the sheet.  I hit Sebastian and screamed.
