Chapter lV

POV OFF

Tuesday morning and the sun reflecting on the Mediterranean Sea was shining throughout Joanne's balcony, so much she got jealous of those who were enjoying their holidays on the beach.
Today was a special day. She had invited Max to go with her to the shelter we're she is a volunteer. The younger boys really liked to see the races, as she had observed, so she thought about making them a surprise. And Max said yes.
The previous day when she told them they were going to have a surprise related to F1 they went crazy, in a good way of course.
She headed to the shelter early in the morning. All the kids immediately gather together to talk to her. She was so gentle to them in a maternal way. Those hours she spends there she, not only takes care of their healthcare but also plays with the youngest, gives advices to the older ones, that's why they all loved her.

The afternoon was passing really quickly and all she check ups were done. Max agreed to meet her by 4 pm and he arrived just in time to.
Everyone's was already waiting impatient to the surprise.

His ocean eyes met hers and they automatically smile.

-"Hello gorgeous" he said teasing her.
"Hi Mr. Verstappen" she blushed
He looked at her from the bottom to the top and got closer to her so their faces almost touching.
"I'm gonna ask you to not take that doctor jacket. I'd rather take it out myself tonight. You looking freaking sexy in it." He looked right in her eyes making her blush once again. "Just don't wear anything underneath." He completed.
"Max, stop this is my work. And are you sure you want to ripped this jacket of me? Full of vomit, poop and everything she's had on it" she laughed and he maked a disgusted face.
"Yeah that's what I thought" she said chuckling.
"I'm sure I can arrange something new and sexy and we can play with it" he said not backing down of his terrific idea.
"Sure Max, let's discuss that later".

As they enter the room, all the kids were in awe. I think most of them didn't believe that it was actually Max Verstappen on their living room.
Once they realised everyone was running to grab a pencil so they could get their autograph, and then running to Max. Joanne looked at him and smiled and said.
"Guys calm down there will be time for everyone, autographs, pictures whatever you want. Max is here to spend some time with you, answer all your questions but one at a time okay?"
They all replied yes and sitted down as did Max in front of them.
Everyone wanted to know how it was driving the car at that speed, what was it like to be world champion, how could they get to formula 1.

Joanne's POV

I never saw Max with kids, but I was caught up in his conversations with them. He was so easygoing, understanding and loving, always looking to be an example to this kids that had nothing.
He saw a little girl standing in the back of all of them quiet and said.
"Hello, don't you wanna come a little closer to the rest of the group?" She denied with her head. I knew little Elodie was a really shy girl. It took me one year to get her trust. I looked at her and said "you can go Elodie, he's nice" I and gave her a warm smile.
She got up and seated herself close to me and Max. And I told Max "well Elodie aspires someday to be a maths teacher." He looked at the little girl smile and said "really?"
"Yes, it's my dream. I want to teach little kids like me." She said in her girly voice.
"I'm sure you will be a great teacher, you just follow your dreams and never give up until you made" Max said and little Elodie gave him a sweet smile.

It was getting late and I took photos of everyone with Max. The energy is that room was crazy. Everyone was beyond happy and was getting ready to say their goodbyes but there was one little girl in he background just looking at everyone around Max, and I went to talk to her.
"Don't you wanna say goodbye to Max?"
"I'm sure he his already annoyed because everyone is around him. Don't think he needs another person to bother him." She said shyly.
"I'm sure Max would be very happy if you say goodbye to him. He liked you" I said in a soft way.
"How do you know?" She asked me
"Well because he likes cleaver girls like you, who know what they want from life. I said smiling because I related to that.
"Is he your boyfriend?" she asked me out of nowhere. I'm sure my jaw dropped at that question. How could she now she was only eight years old.
"Of course not" we're just friends. I said quickly. One day people will know but not now.
"Hm I'm not sure, every time he speaks your eyes shine so bright." I'm speechless, when she's older instead of maths teacher she can be a psychologist.
I decided to not continue the subject about my love life.
"Go and say goodbye, he's leaving anytime" I said.
I observe from far away. She approached to
Him and said her goodbyes. He replied to her, smiled and gave her a soft pat in her hair. She smiled.

I waved at Max leaving agreeing to stay with with tonight since he was leaving tomorrow for Netherlands to the Grand Prix.

Max POV

Today was a hard day for me. Even though i was able to make so many children happy, I just couldn't stay still thinking they have nothing. They were so great full for me just being there. Maybe I could go more times, I had to talk to Joanne about that.
I heard a knock on the door and quickly open it to unveil the person I looked for the most.
I grab her by the waist and kissed her, I don't know but seeing the hard work she does everyday just to make them feel less lonely it's something that made me like her even more.
"Well someone has been anxious to do that all day long!" She said mocking me.
"Of course, who wouldn't want to kiss Dra. Joanne".
"I'm pretty sure a lot of people.. I hope" she said
"You don't have idea how beautiful you are do you?" I said laughing
"Stop it" she said getting rid of his arms

"Well I made us some diner. A special plate to be honest. " i said proudly and continued to reveal his spaghetti alla carbonara.
She laughed very hard
"Is this another hidden talent Verstappen?"
"Sure, best spaghetti you'll ever eaten" i said serious and proud of my dish
"Oh aren't you putting the standers very high?" She said provoking me.
"No, everything I do its meant to be good" he said
"Hm let's taste it then"
