Chapter 18 : ACE card

•Karina's POV•

After going back from KWANGYA, i'm now in Giselle's house, i quickly took out my phone and called the others, i called Jaemin first because i don't want to disturb Haechan and Winter's date, maybe i will tell them later about this.

I tried to contact Jaemin but he didn't answer my phone calls, i'm started getting worry about him now so i decided to go to his house.

I then took all of the crystal pieces and put them in my school bag before i took a taxi to go to Jaemin's house.

When i arrived at his house, i immediately had a bad feeling about this, i then pressed on the bell a few times and wait for someone to come and open the door for me.

A bit longer later, there's still no one came to open the door so i decided to press the bell again and wait, few minutes has passed, finally i heard footsteps coming.

When i can clearly see that person, i was surprised that it's Jaemin, but he didn't seem to be fine, his eyes are red and i think maybe he cried.

After he opened the door, he said in a low voice,

"Hey, why did you come here ?......Is there anything ?"

His voice is so dry that i barely heard what he said, i then looked at him for a while before i said,

"Did you just.....cry ?"

He seemed to be a bit nervous and surprised at what i just said, but he smiled at me but i know it's a fake one, then he said,

"No-nothing, it's just that i'm having a cold, but why do you come here, looking for me ?"

I just nodded and said,

"Can i come inside ?"

He then said,

"Sure."

I have come to his house for like so many times since we're young, cause i'm his best friend when we're still kids and i knew everything about him and there's no one who could understand him more than me.

We then sat down on the sofa in the living, while i'm still looking around because this place has changed a lot since i last came here.

The then said while handing me a cup of hot tea,

"It's already late now so i thought you should have been in your house to study."

I then said,

"Yeah, that's what i should do now.....but i forgot my notebook at Giselle's house so i came there to take it and i just came here accidentally so i decided to visit your house, it's been a while since i last came here by the way."

After sipping on his tea, he said,

"And.....that's it ?"

I then realized that i should tell him something so i said,

"Also, we're going to do something very important actually, but all of us have to go to KWANGYA, i don't want to disturb Haechan and Winter's date bu-......."

I didn't finish what i'm saying because he's already looked away the moment i mentioned Winter and Haechan, i then immediately understood that i've just said something wrong.

I then pat his shoulder and said,

"You still like her ?"

He's still didn't look at me, then he said,
