"It could never work out for us, could it?"

It was never supposed to be anything serious, just some fun. Someone to see at night, the two of you being way too caught up in life for a relationship. But somewhere along the way, the dynamic switched. His meaningless touch, soon turned to mean so much to you. His kisses, intoxicating your mind.

Elvis and you had met through mutual friends in the business, talking for what seemed like hours that first night in Graceland back in 1962.

"The music really seems a lot to you." You grinned, sitting alongside him at his piano. He had been playing little melodies for you, mainly showing off his incredible talent to impress you.

"It sure does. I wanna leave an impact on the world. Show people something new, somethin' timeless." Elvis responded, standing up and reaching out, extending a hand which you took. His hands were soft, and gentle.

People socialised throughout the house, upstairs off limits to the party goers. The home was beautiful.
Elvis had been getting to know you all night, your conversation flowing effortlessly. He was kind, witty- yet still held a mystery to him.

"I'm very sure you will, Mr Presley."

"Say." He began, stopping at the foot of the carpeted stairs. "Would you like to accompany me upstairs?"

You nodded, following his lead. He had pointed to various pictures on the walls, explaining each story behind them. Soon, you reached his bedroom. It was plain, nothing special. A large bed in the middle of the room with some freshly washed clothing folded at the end. Vinyls scattered across the floor. One thing you did notice, was the insane amount of colognes lined up neatly on a shelf, explained why he smelled so good.

"Should of cleaned up a little." He chuckled. "Wasn't expecting company." Elvis explained, nervously scratching the back of his neck. You smiled, shaking your head as he closed the door for some privacy.

"I ain't judging."

The two of you stayed up in the bedroom for the remainder of the night, after a while sprawled on the bed- looking up at the ceiling simply talking about life. You really did intrigue Elvis, and you felt the same way about him. Somewhere along the way, the platonic relationship took a more romantic turn.

You fought like cat and dog, never agreeing on anything. The two of you acted like a married couple at the ripe ages of 27 and 20. The age gap never seeming to bother either of you, although it may have played a huge role in the constant bickering.

"You're actin' crazy already! See!" Elvis hollered, throwing up his arms in frustration as the two of you made the way back to his Cadillac, having spent the night fooling around.
