Gary Finds Out

For the past month & a half, Ash had been training his Pokémon for the Indigo League Tournament. His Pokémon had learned new moves & trained their Stamina & resistance to their weakness Types. Meowzie had grown close to Ash & Pikachu, she made great friends with Ash's other Pokémon including Misty's & Brock's Pokémon & the training toughened her up, she couldn't have been more happy & turns out joining Ash was the best decision she ever made. The gang went to the Indigo Plateau for the tournament. After the Torch Ceremony, they went to the Pokémon League Village where they'll be staying for the tournament.

"Well, look who's here." Gary said as he was sitting at a table

"Gary." Ash said neutrally

"Hope tomorrow's your lucky day, cause you're gonna need luck." Gary boasted

"I appreciate the concern, but I won't be needing luck to win." Ash said calmly

"Hm? What makes you so sure?" Gary asked curiously

"My Pokémon & I have been training for the Indigo League Tournament & we're ready as we'll ever be." Ash replied

Gary, Misty, & Brock were slightly surprised by Ash's attitude, normally Ash would be ticked off when Gary taunted him, but now he's acting calm & mature. Then Gary noticed Meowzie on Ash's left shoulder.

"So you caught a Meowth, huh?" Gary assumed

"Yep, her name is Meowzie, & I captured her a month & a half ago." Ash said

"You actually nicknamed your Meowth, nicknaming Pokémon for babies." Gary chuckled amusingly as Meowzie gained a tick mark "Besides, you should've caught some more Pokémon while you were still at Pallet Town & I doubt a lousy Trainer like you would last long in the Tournament."

"MEOWTH!" Meowzie said angrily as he pounced at Gary

"Whoa!" Gary exclaimed as Ash caught her

"Hey Meowzie, calm down." Ash said

"Meow Meow Meow!" Meowzie said as she tried to struggle out of Ash's grasp

"Easy girl, he's not worth it." Ash said Meowzie calmed down

"Geez, what's her problem?" Gary said

"You should watch what you say Gary, Meowzie can be very protective." Ash said. "Also, I wouldn't be so sure about what you said if I were you, because I've got several more Pokémon back at home. Don't believe me, ask your grandfather.

With that the gang left, Gary just stared as he saw that Ash looked serious when he said that. He went to the Pokémon Center & called his grandfather.

"Hello there, Gary." Oak greeted as he appeared on the screen "What can I do for you?"

"Hey Grandpa, I saw Ash today." Gary said

"Oh, did you?" Oak said

"Yeah, he said he got more Pokémon back at the lab. But come on, we both know that it's not true." Gary said as he laughed.

"Well, I wouldn't say that." Oak said as Gary stopped laughing

"Wait, what?" Gary said confusingly

"Ash certainly wasn't lying when he said he had more Pokémon. If you want proof then here." Oak said as he showed a picture of Ash & his recent Pokémon

"What the!" Gary exclaimed shockingly "This has to be a prank or something!"

"It's not a prank, Gary." Oak said

When Gary saw Ash's Gyarados, Psyduck, & Magnemite.

"Are those Shiny Pokémon!" Gary gasped as his eyes popped out of his head

"Yes indeed." Oak said

"What are those Pokémon & what is up with that Meowth & Exeggutor?" Gary asked

"If you are referring to Umbreon who is also Shiny, Espeon, Scizor, & Togetic, they are Pokémon from the Johto region. As for the Meowth & Exeggutor, they're Alola regional form Pokémon from the Alola Region."

"WHAT!?" Gary shouted as his jaw dropped to the floor "HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!?"

"Well, he traded his 29 Tauros for those Pokémon. As for the Lickitung, he got her from an old friend." Oak said "Ash has been getting serious & trained his Pokémon for the past month & a half. Looks like he's really catching up to you, is there anything else you want to know"

"..." Gary silenced as he was stunned

"I'll take that as a no, have a good evening." Oak said as he hung up

With that Gary got up & left the Pokémon in a huff while grumbling to himsel

"No fair, I can't believe that loser manage to get so many rare Pokémon." Gary grumbled
