Their song was playing on the radio again. "C'mon Ed! Dance with me!" Dorthy swept Ed into a slow dance that didn't quite match the song. They didn't care, singing and swaying. It ended quickly, and Dorthy twirled gracefully away, taking a mocking bow. "Lovely, dear," he told her mischievously, and she giggled. "Stop it! It feels like we're in school again when you tease me like that." He just smiled and she swatted him on the arm with her hand. "Don't give me that look. I need to get dinner started anyways." She sauntered into the kitchen, Ed watching her retreating back, still smiling to himself. Everyone had told him he was too good for her, but he disagreed. If anything, she was way out of his league. She was beautiful and witty, and she had a sass to her that was incredibly endearing.
He got up and decided to join her in the kitchen. "And what are you doing here?" she asked, pointing a spatula at him. "I'm here to help?" he said, unsure of what he actually was doing here. She smiled at this. "Ok, but you have to wear the lacy apron. I'm not having you ruin your clothes because you don't know how to properly cook." Obediently, he pulled the apron on over his shirt, tying it in the back. It was a little short and the lace made him look a little ridiculous, but the giggling that came out of Dorthy was worth it. She showed him how to knead the dough she was working on and he got to work, humming with her.
