SITTING AT THE HUFFLEPUFF dinner table, Maja had finally gotten a quiet moment. She was sitting with Cedric, eating her potatoes and starting small conversation. Dylan was seated at the Slytherin table with Nott, trying not to look over at his ex-girlfriend.

Neither Maja nor the girl he spent time with would talk to him. He wasn't necessarily trying to speak Maja, but had tried to contact the other girl several times.

Dylan knew he couldn't get Maja back easily, but he was sick of everything her friends were doing to him. First it was the mean looks from Angelina Johnson and Katie Bell, followed by a black eye, courtesy of a Weasley twin whom Dylan couldn't tell which one. This led to the taunting in quidditch, even by his own teammates. He was becoming annoyed, and planned to say something to the brunette girl.

"Maj, slow down!" Cedric laughed as Maja scooped more and more potatoes into her mouth. "You're gonna get full super fast!"

But Maja didn't listen, continuing to shove the dinner down her throat. It was her first dinner back in the Great Hall, and her first dinner where she began to smile again. She was having a good time with her best friend, and wanted to savor the moment. If anything, the light in the dining hall added more ambiance to the food, making it somehow look and taste better.

"I am going to eat until I drop, and you will do nothing about it." Maja replied between bites, taking no time to breathe or wipe her face. Cedric did nothing but roll his eyes playfully at the girl in front of him, before he dug into his own food.

"I'm just saying-" Cedric started, before Maja immediately interrupted him.

"Shit!" She gasped. "Sh, Sh! It's her!"

Looking towards the entrance of the Great Hall, Maja saw her. Her brown hair, her pale skin and sculpted features. It was the girl she had caught Dylan with weeks ago. Maja had rarely seen her since, except for some glances in the halls. The girl did a good job of avoiding her, and Maja did the same.

Unfortunately, she wasn't so lucky this time. Maja stole a glance at the girl, which she quickly returned, her mouth slightly agape.

"'Her' as in the girl sleeping with Dylan?" Replied Cedric, to which Maja broke her gaze from the girl. "The one walking over, right?"

Maja looked back up at the girl, who was making a steady haste towards their table. Quickly, Maja panicked.

"Yes,  yes it's 'her' and I just stared right at her! And she's coming over here, fuck me." She dug her head into her arms, hoping the girl would walk right by her. Which didn't work.

"Maja? Is it?" The girl asked, tapping Maja's shoulder. "Can we talk?" Her long brown hair framed her face too perfectly. The girl had a smaller figure, one that Maja thought she would die for. She wore fishnetted tights under her robes, and black boots. She was shorter than Maja, but carried her height well.

Maja lifted up her head slowly, looking in between the girl and Cedric. She didn't want to talk to the girl, and risk reliving the entire incident. "Yes, yea, that's me." Maja replied, playing with her fingers. She tried not to look at the girl directly, feeling her pity. Maja didn't want to be pitied, she wanted to move on.

"Well, I'm sure you know who I am, so I'll just get to the point." The dark-eyed girl sighed, sitting down next to Maja with her feet opposite the bench. "I didn't know. I promise you, I didn't know. He came on to me, and I am so sorry for what happened. If I knew he had a girlfriend I, I promise you Maja, would have never."

The girl had a sad expression on her face, proving to Maja that she had said nothing but the truth. Maja believed her, but couldn't continue this conversation. She was having a good night, and wouldn't let someone, with an apology or not, ruin that.
