{Note} This is the project I've been working on for a while. To be honest though, I won't be actually writing this story. No, this is a manga story, and since it's the only thing I have been able to focus on, I invite you to check it out! Please visit it at http://axisofdestruction.weebly.com/doragon-konpaku.html and support the series! I'd really appriciate it!
Prologue
It was four thousand years since the last great Guadian Invasion. These creatures were capable of transforming humanity into hybrid versions of themselves, and soon a blight of unstoppable magnitude began. The guadians appeared as countless kinds of animal or monstrous species, tigers, dragons, they were a truly diverse race, and they threatened to destroy us all.
The war lasted for five hundred years, and towards the end, we learned what drove their furious advance: the Guadian Black Dragon. A being unique to the Guadian, which are creatures of pure white bodies, its body was adorned with obsidian black plates of armor. It towered over the mountains and cities; its wrath was truly unstoppable. Our race was once one mighty nation, but in the chaos of war, countless factions formed. One of these was the mighty Templar, and of the many divisions of humanity, it was the Templar that proved to be the most powerful of them all. Their leader, the Grand Templar, Katrina Goldheart Katana, alone took on a whole legion alone, and prevailed.
It still wasn't enough. Wherever the Black Dragon appeared, the Templars fell. Finally, at the place now known as Dread Ones Fell, Katrina took her final stand against the monster alone, surrounded by fallen and corrupted Templars, and now turned Guadian Humanforms. The two clashed in an intense, devastating battle, in which the fates of both remain deafeningly clear. The dragon and Tokesio both were wiped out by the strength of their last blows. All that was left behind was the great dragon's skeleton. To this day, it remains as a testament to those dark days. The aftermath of the Guadian War was great and devastating. Few traces could be found of the old ways, save for a few relics of advanced machinery, and their complex magics, all of which were preserved by the Templars.
Much of the lands the Guadian still controlled were blackened and wilted, and it was at the border of these 'Wilted Lands' that the Templars ordered the construction of a wall that reached to the clouds, allowing them to observe the still present swarm without fearing another invasion. The old capital city of the humans became known to the Templars as 'The Holy Realm', and in their early days of power, was the cause of several 'Crusades' to retake it from the Guadian's hands. All of them failed, and for many centuries, the humans under the guidance of the Templar organization, slowly drove out the last of the guadian swarms from the lands. In the later years, humanity began to quarrel and divide into smaller, distinctive nations. However, even with their own military, they still to this day cannot defy the Templars, who continue to drive the Guadian from the lands, and act as peacekeepers, disrupting any warmongering from becoming severe.
Now, under the current Grand Templar, Arashi 'Goldheart' Katana, the Templar is struggling to maintain a steady supply of recruits, their use becoming less valuable to the nations. And it is at this time, that Arashi and his Grand Templar Court have learned of a dire threat: The Black Guadian Dragon is capable of resurrection via a specific type of Humanform Guadian. Arashi and his men now strive to find the possible carrier of this mutation before it can find a strong enough human… capable of evolving into the next Guadian Black Dragon… and restarting a Second Guadian Swarm.
