A Suffering Memory

  The floors echo like the endless void as Alex approaches a box in the corner of her room  "Huh what's this?"  She reaches for the handle of the old wooden chest opening it carefully not to break it and spill all its contents "Oh I was looking for this stuff everywhere" she pulls out an old book titled Alex's Diary, she sets it aside and reaches in for the next item "What's this?" She says in a worried tone as she pulls out a face mask covered in the dust she stares at it trying to remember its origin.

She guides her fingers around the grooves on the mask it makes a spiral "Wait I remember what this is " she jumps back as the mask lights up with a red glowing eye she tries to throw the mask but it's too late Alex falls to the ground.

"Alex wake up" I jolt awake as I recall the voice being so familiar "Galaxy is that you?" My skin crawls as the voice replays in my head "Yes it's me are you ok?" I look over to him he looks just like I remember him tall with long purple hair in his ponytail his warm Yellow glowing eyes staring into my soul it always seemed to comfort me and the stubbled beard he just started to grow before it all happened "Yes I'm fine Galaxy just had a weird dream why did you wake me?" I correct my position on the bed old red bed.

Galaxy looks at me with a serious and concerned face "Steve is here and he has Sabre"  My eyes widen as my knees begin to buckle my skin begins to crawl "H-How I put a shield over the hub he shouldn't be able to get in" I stand up and rush to the window of the medical ward "He breached the shied not too long ago he's already taken out most of the frontlines he's looking for you."  I clench my teeth and continue to stare out the window "Ok I'll confront him" I walk over to galaxy kissing him on the cheek before running out the door and flying to the front of the Rainbow Hub.

"Steve stop this now" Steve looks down at Alex "Why hello there nice of you to finally show up Alex" I look around to see the area on the hub in rubble fire every armor once filled by Steve's on the ground covered in ashes "Where's Sabre!!!" Steve laughs and throws down Sabres's limp body "He's not dead but I got him to tell me the location of the Rainbow Hub." A tear drops down my face as I run to Sabre "Steve why are you doing this your going insane this isn't you."

"I'm doing this for them I'm saving this world but I need your power so I can reset" I run up to his face "We created this world together we created the people who reside they will make mistakes they will cause chaos but at the end of the day they will learn your no better than Void or Nightmare" Steve snickers at Alex "Never compare me to those fools Sister I'm gonna right all their wrongs and repair order a few lives can be lost to achieve this"

"I will not let you have my power you will not destroy this world" Steve eyes glow a brighter Blue "Then I'll take it from you myself" Steve runs at Alex punching her and knocking her into a pillar "Gah" I whine in pain "Stop Steve please your my brother we are family you can't do..."  Steve doesn't respond his right arm glows with black fire and aims his punch toward Alex "No!!!" Galaxy jumps in front of the blow "G-Galaxy no" Galaxy falls to the ground limp and weak "Pathetic your little star boy couldn't take a punch."

My eyes glow emerald green as a tear drops down my face smooths to a dull look "Let's end this Steve" Alex raises from the ground and tackles Steve in mid-air flying out of the rainbow hub  "You stupid stupid boy" Alex punches Steve back in forth bruising his face, Steve yells in anger "Get off" he kicks her away she goes flying back "Gah, I won't let you take away this world at this point it means more to me than it means to you" As she recovers fireballs fly towards her direction startled she's hit by them being sent down to the ground.

"Your talking is your downfall" he grabs on to Alex and starts to absorb her energy "N-No Steve stop" Steve's eyes glow black and white as he starts the process of restarting the world, "I said stop" I scream as my arm glows white with fire I  punch Steve in his face he falls back stares at me with his glowing white black eyes his arms matching with the energy around his arms.

"Please Steve you can still stop this I love you and I know you love this world please" Steve looks at me with a blank stare "No I will not stop till I fix what I've made" he runs at Alex "So be it" Alex runs at him they punch each other's fist the power sends both of them back causing an explosion of destructive energy through the world.

Alex wakes up to see the world she once knew scorched in ashes and dust and the sky red  "N-No this can't be happening, Steve where are you" she runs around looking for him she finds him in a crater crying "Are you proud of yourself Steve are you proud of what you've done it's all gone as you wanted right the Steve's are gone our history is gone"  Steve looks up at Alex "I-I'm sorry I don't know what got into me Alex please forgive me" Tears swell up in my eyes "No I can never forgive you for what you've done to me and this world goodbye Steve."

lightning surrounds her as she teleports away and enters a white pocket world and falls to her knees crying, Alex wakes up on the floor of her room she walks over and grabs the mask and destroys it with lightning "I always hated that Steve master of memory..." her hands shake as the shards of the mask fall to the ground tears following it she begins to sob loudly.

Footsteps can be heard from behind her "Alex are you ok what's wrong?" creation runs beside Alex and comforts her.
