English is not my first language. Sorry for any spelling mistakes."No! I want to continue playing!" Why couldn't her mother just understand? She did not want to go to her stupid history class. All she wanted to do was to play. With a defeated sigh, her mother stood up.
"Come here, Amy, or else miss Lisa will have to waste her time waiting." Amy crossed her arms and scowled at her. "Alright, but then we won't throw you a birthday party." Amy just stared at her mother with her mouth wide open. How could she suggest such a thing? Her elleventh birthday was just around the corner, and she was going to be celebrated.
Reluctantly, she trailed after her mother to the study. The grand oak doors were pushed open as they walked in. "Ah, princess Amy, sit down please" Amy liked miss Lisa. She was a kind and good teacher. But that did not matter now! Because the princess herself was forced to learn her stupid kingdom's stupid history! No one understood her desire get pulled into a story of a fantasy land with no responsibilities. Amy sighed as she sat down, defeated. "Good morning, miss Lisa. I deeply apologize for making you wait so long; I hope you can give your forgiveness." The words were practically ingrained in her brain after arriving late to so many of her lessons.
Her mother looked at her triumphantly, as if Amy admitting to having wasted her teacher's time made her happy."Well then, Amy, I expect you to act well." And with that, her mother left through the oak doors elegantly.
"Should we begin the lesson then, Your Highness?"

Amy could not even begin to understand how anyone could possibly force their child to sit through such boring lectures through hours on end.
It was now noon, and the princess was trying to find a place where she could read her book in peace. But there seemed to be no such place. Her room? The maids were still there. The library? It was still under construction after one of the recruits accidently lit it on fire. The garden? It was visible from the throne room where her mother was, and if she were to catch Amy slacking like that, well, only Lord Barbatos knows what would happen. Finally, she stopped by a door she had never gone through before; the knights' training room.
Amy pushed the door open, and in inside was a girl who seemed to be around her age. She looked astonishing, even now as her face was dripping with sweat, and she was breathing heavily. But it was not the sweat or the panting that caught Amy's attention, but rather the sheer beauty of the girl in front of her. Her hair was long and carefully braided. It was violet with a hint of gray. The light from the window perfectly framed her glowing face and green eyes. She was simply beautiful.
"-llo? Are you okay?"
"Huh?" When had she gotten over here? Amy could have sworn she was in the middle of the room just two seconds ago!The girl in front of her gasped. "L-lord Barbatos, you're the princess", her eyes grew wide with fear. "P-please forgive me, Your Highness, I will get right back to work". And she stormed out of the room.
"Wait!"
But it was too late, the girl was already out of Amy's sight. The princess just stood there, dumbfounded.
Her book was long forgotten as she paced through the castle halls in an attempt to find the girl. Amy grew less and less patient with every step she took, and eventually she surrendered to her tiredness.
The little princess looked out the giant window. Her eyes widened slightly at the sight; it was already dusk! Amy knew she would get punished if she didn't arrive at the dining hall on time. And so she ran, and ran, and ran. Just little more now and she would be there on time.
