A bright clear blue sky encompasses the turquoise and shallow part of the ocean. A gentle breeze accompanies it along with the shining gold sand that is fine, dry and hot on the skin of Moiponi's bare feet. The blazing sun glows like a natural lamp in the sky and stands watch over its realm. The air is fresh with a mixture of salt in it, the waves crash against the charcoal black rocks.
Moiponi has on a long white dress with thin straps and her short ebony natural afro stands out above her head. Her round chocolate eyes sparkle with awe as she takes in her surroundings. There is an aura of peace and happiness around her as she dances in circles around the shore.
"Moiponi," A voice calls out to her and she halts her movements; looking at the person that just summoned her in the distance.
"Mama," She responds animatedly as she runs over to where she is standing.
Lebogang's ghostly figure has on the same white dress as her daughter's except hers has longer sleeves and her head is wrapped up in a white cloth.
"Mama, why did you leave?" Moiponi asks with tears in her eyes after taking a hold of her mother's warm hands and staring intently at her.
She takes her right transparent hand out of Moiponi's grasp and places it on her cheek instead.
"It was my time," Her response is soft and full of acceptance.
"No mama, no," She cries out and her mother brings her into her warm embrace, the tears never stop flowing as Moiponi sobs into her mother's ghostly chest.
"I miss you. You went away so quickly,"
"I know my baby, I know but it was God's plan...He took me away because I was suffering. Suffering because of my husband's treatment towards me and my children, my heart couldn't take it...Only my soul could which is why I was sent away to watch over you, guide you," Lebogang says as she lifts Moiponi's head up to look into her eyes which are a reflection of herself.
"Just know that I am at peace and that I am here to listen...I am sorry that I left you and your brother. I love you both so much," She continues as Moiponi holds her gaze, Lebogang's eyes sparkle with love.
"I love you too, mama," Moiponi whispers as she places her hand on top of the one on her cheek.
"I want you to be strong and face the world head on, knowing that I am there with you and will never leave you alone...You will see more of me in your dreams, along with your brother's...Never forget me, my love...Never forget the love that I had for you...We will see each other again," Lebogang says as she separates herself from her daughter, turning her back to her as a light shiny passage opens up in the sky like a portal; her soul lifts up in the air and transfers into the portal that closes up as quickly as it had opened.
Moiponi awakens from her deep sleep, not really remembering what she had dreamt about. She blinks her eyes rapidly, lifting her hands up to wipe the sleep out of her eyes using her fingers. Her eyes adjusting to the light in the room as she sits up on the soft and comfy queen-sized bed in her new room for the moment.
The room is decorated more tastefully and is more spacious than the one back at home. The walls are a white colour and the flooring is made out of a brown, fluffy carpet. There are two beige windows next to each other on the right with a peach flowery curtain above; a bathroom is connected next to the room with an empty walk-in-closet. The sheets are light and are a teal colour.
She gets up from the bed, stretching her arms out-her stomach protests in hunger as she recalls the last time that food was in her system; which was hours ago. Pushing away the thoughts that want to creep up about Elias and Onthatile as she places her shoes on and walks out of the room with an intent of going over to the kitchen to make some food for herself.
