Riki's POV:

Sometime during the middle of the week, maybe Wednesday, I woke up to a letter on the nightstand next to my bed.

You should find a better place to hide next time, Mr. Nishimura. Since I'm feeling... generous... today, I'll give you a few days to get away before I step in. You have until Saturday night. Good luck.

I don't know how they found me. I don't recall being obvious about it. But they did, and that's all that matters.

I have to run.

Friday morning, Minji makes breakfast and has to leave for her final day of work this week.

"I'll see you this afternoon, Riki. Bye," she says and hugs me. A small smile grows on my face, but I try to hide it until she's out of the door.

Maybe I can stay... I can just make sure the doors and windows are locked. They can't get in then.

But no.

I have to run.

It's my only option.

But I... I don't want to lose Minji. I know I just met her, but she's been so nice to me. And she took me in when I needed it. I am just a random stranger that came through her window one night, and she trusted me enough to let me stay in her home.

Maybe... I can pretend that I left. They can't know that I'm pretending, right?

I'm overthinking this. I have to leave. If only there was another choice, one where I can stay with Minji. But there isn't. I should be used to losing people that I love by now.

I decide that I have to leave, so I clean the bedroom that I've been staying in. I also clean all the laundry I've used, even though it takes me forever to figure out how the washing machine works. I've never used one before. I even wash the dishes for her. It's the least I can do for Minji after she fed and housed me for a few days.

Finally, before I leave, I write her a note. It would be rude to leave and not tell her thanks and bye, but I can't tell her bye in person. She won't let me leave if she knows my plan. I leave the letter on the dining room table and then take one last look at the house before leaving through the window in Minji's bedroom.

Closing the window behind me, I turn around and see him standing there.

"Glad to finally see you again, Mr. Nishimura. It's been months," he says, laughing. He pins me to the wall and holds me there with his arm pressed to my neck.

"You-you said I had until-" he pushes harder, cutting off my air supply.

"Since when have I ever kept my promises, Mr. Nishimura? You should've known better," he says. I try to speak but nothing will come out due to the pressure he's putting on my throat. "You're really quiet today, why is that?" I gasped for air again and his arm loosens a bit, allowing me to speak.

"Your arm was keeping me from saying anything-" I say, breathing heavily.

"Hmm... or maybe it's because of the girl..." he says. My eyes open wide at his comment.

"Don't. Touch. Her." I say angrily.

"Aww, you like her? Cute. Maybe I should take her with me too," he says.

"Don't you dare-" I say and step on his foot.

"Ow! You'll regret that, Nishimura," he says, wincing. All of a sudden, there's a sharp pain in my right thigh and I feel a warm liquid drip down my leg.

He stabbed me with a pocket knife.

"Fine! I'll-I'll go with you. Just don't hurt her, please. I beg you-" I say, almost crying from the pain.

"Finally, you'll listen. Come, come," he says and two other guys appear from behind him and grab hold of my arms, dragging me back to the place I never wanted to return to.

(A/N : I know, it's been so long since I've updated this... but I ended up writing more and I wanted to upload something for everyone, so here's another chapter :) I hope you enjoyed it and have a great day/night! <3)
