This snow shit's really starting to get on my nerves.
I've been barely making it along with my group. Half of the original number have died, but we have to keep on pushing. We're trying to go on another supply run, but with the way things are looking... it's looking unlikely that we'll be able to find any. One of the younger boys with us got badly cut on some glass yesterday. Sometimes I miss my parents; no one really knows what happened to them. We all woke up one morning, it was snowing, and our parents were gone. Well, all adults were.
Actually? I miss normality.
"Taehyung. Your brother's looking for you. Library."
I nodded quickly, slinging my backpack over my shoulder and sighing. Yet another day of being scolded by my brother, I'd assume. He's always all over my ass, and for what reason? I'm the leader of this group, and it doesn't matter if he's older than me! He's become such an asshole since The Snow. It's been getting worse recently, too. It's like he thinks he's our savior or something. "Yoongs! What did you need, man?" The shorter man before me sighed, his grey eyes boring into mine. Sometimes I forget he's blind and doesn't realize he's making awkward eye contact with me. Maybe I should look away... Whatever. He's a dick anyway. His lips parted before quickly closing, merely pointing in the direction of orange light coming from a room not too far away.
His thin lips curled into a small smile. For the first time in months, Min Yoongi had smiled. "Must be good then, huh?" With a curt nod, I began to walk my way over to the room, only to open the door and be met with heat. Heat. You know, the thing we'd been desperately trying to find an artificial source of for months? And, to make it even better, it was a fire. "Yoongi... How'd you find this?" He chuckled dryly, walking towards where I was standing. His clothes were a little tattered... I'd have to go looking for some new ones for him soon. His hair is still that ever-minty-green.
"Was just walking around and almost fell into the fucking pit over there. This library was part of that uh... Railroad thing, wasn't it? There are places like that all around here. I think they lead under the city. The fire was just kind of, well, here. I threw a couple more books on it so that it would come back, but someone was here before us."
He picked up a book and felt around for the heat to become stronger, tossing the book into the fire once he was close enough. "We need to find food. We're almost out, and you know it, Taehyung." I nodded slowly, running a hand through my hair so that it would shake away from my eyes. I need to cut it, too. My roots are growing out and it's throwing off the silver.
What? I have to pass the time somehow!
"Yeah, Yoongs, I know." I sighed loudly, putting an arm around his shoulder, slowly pulling a smile from his face. "What's up with you today? You're so cheery and smiley. Not that I'm complaining, though, it's nice." Yoongi only nodded, the smile still stuck to his thin lips. What the hell? This was just odd. Did he find something else? The fire was amazing, but if there was something else... Whatever. I had other shit to do.
"Sorry Yoongs, I gotta go. Have Joon lead you out to the roof, okay?"
