The final inning...one more home run and the Yankees win the World Cup series. One more home run, and Liam Payne officially becomes the best baseball player in the world, with the most home runs in history. One more home run, and maybe the rumors about Liam Payne would stop. One more home run, and everything could change...forever.
The stadium grew quiet. Liam Payne was getting his bat ready, praying to the Gods above for good luck . Praying that if he does win this, everything would change.
Tap. Tap. Tap. He tapped the plate signaling the pitcher that he was ready. The pitcher swung his hand...once...twice....then three times before finally letting go.
It happened in the blink of an eye, the ball hitting the bat, the ball so high up, that it could've been one with the clouds. But for Liam, it all went by slowly. Way too slowly. He needed to know if he was able to achieve such a great accomplishment. He needed to know if all the hard work paid off.
He got so close to third base when all of the sudden, his leg gives out. The crowd gasped.
